for any offroad enthusiasts the name Chris Blais might be familiar because he has been running the Dakar on the KTM team for four (IIRC) years now. Used to be part of Team Honda in their Baja efforts. They came in second to 1x (Hengeveld - Team Honda).

If I'm not mistaken they spend a good portion of the time they're riding standing up during the Dakar.

In offroad races its ~ 70% standing up, with 20% in a crouch with your ass just barely touching the seat and 10% sitting down. Sitting down while racing at 70+ mph in silt on a dirtbike is suicide. I think there was one team member with Blais and they swapped off at different times.
