The 'whole story' is that the principal has TEMPORARILY banned ALL flags in an effort to keep the issue from boiling over from taunts to violence.

so we should temporarily ban our own flag for some uneducated, ungrateful, shitheads, in OUR country?

I think a better option is enforcing the immigration laws already in place and deport them by the flocks...

can't deport the mexican flag waving students because they are american citizens.

Heh, yeah... this town is fucked up. That story's been all over the news here the past few days.

I got a letter from the apartment office today... came home and the fat mexican kid that lives across the hall was standing in front of my door with a few of his fat friends... the letter was torn in half and laying on the ground in front of my door. This kid likes to cause problems, and I have little doubt he's the one that did that.

I'm really close to buying a big fucking 6x9ft American flag, and hanging it on my balcony. Maybe even a confederate flag.

If any flag (especially the American flag) was banned in my HS, I'd switch schools. I won't stand for that shit.

as a temporary ban when both sides are getting overly worked up, and to keep those 'uneducated, ungrateful shitheads' from becoming 'provoked' and knifing an American kid to death, sure.

I see it as no different than a school banning people from wearing gang colours, whether or not they're actually affiliated with a gang

If the American flag offends you or "provokes" you... you shouldn't be doing a fucking triathlon through 2 countries' security to get here.

this country is not representing gang colors, it's representing our FLAG.

it would have never come to this if we were enforcing the LAW in the first place! if we were following the LAW then, that kid wouldn't have to fear for his/her life. that student wouldn't have to worry about getting stabbed in the face just because the student was waving the american FLAG!

i don't get liberal minded folk like you, manntis. by your logic, you seem to not care about anything. just let em walk/swim over here and do whatever. you would treat a non U.S. citizen as if they were ABOVE the law.

LMAO... you managed to royally fuck that one up....

You're right.. if the law had been enforced in the first place... we wouldn't be where we are with the overwhelming amount of illegal mexican immigrants.

Manntis is Canadian.... He doesn't have to put up with the mexican idiots and Canada really has never stood for much of anything.

on ther contrary, I care about the well-being of those students - as does the principal. He's not discriminating against anyone, he's imposing a blanket rule to prevent escalation of a tense situation. Notice he's also banned anyone, US citizen or not, from waving mexican flags as well.

You focus on the image on the paper flags, and forget what they stand for; life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The principal is, in one of the only ways his authority will allow, upholding those ideas by easing the situation and allowing his students to focus on their studies, not fear of attack.

It's funny that those who jump up and down the loudest whenever the flag is threatened are usually those who support the Patriot Act. Restrict our real liberties, fine. Remove a US citizens right to speedy trial, or trial at all; remove the rights to privacy, the rights to protest government action... stripping all those real rights is fine - but disallowing the waving of the flag during a tense situation? Hell no!

You should look at who's cleaning up the mess in Afghanistan now the US has pulled out.

Well first of all those kids should be in class with their mouths shut and ears open. Second there should be an American flag in every class and one out in front of the school.

They should start their day with the pledge of allegiance.

That's how it was when I was in K through 12. Is it not still like that?

i think there was some issue with the "under god" part of the pledge of allegiance.

There was, but it's died down. Some of the people bitchin' about it weren't even from the US. My problem with that? We can't go to their country bitchin' about what is and isn't politically correct, so they can shove that shit right back up their ass where it came from.

on the other hand, if i was a student and i wanted to bring a flag to school and have it sticking out of my backpack, i'd get banned. not a huge flag, but like an 8"x12"... in other words, i'm CHOOSING to show my patriotism and well aware of the threats. explain that to me.

but do it without bringing up other random subjects, while avoiding the topic.

If the American flag is posing a possibility of harm to students in American schools... theres major problems underlying this which should've been taken care of long ago. The flag isn't the problem, those that would commit violence over the American flag in America are the problem.

The question still remains... if Mexico is so damn great and they're so proud of being Mexicans... why the fuck did they migrate here in the first place? Southwest Mexicans can be back in Mexico in less than a day. If it's so damn great.... go back. Don't come here and expect us to change our culture and laws for you.

Agreed - but again, the principal was using what limited authority he has in an effort to prevent the situation from erupting in violence on school property. You can bet that if he didn't, and it turned violent, some good ole American parents would have got him fired for not taking such steps.

Well that is the problem with most things. From medicine to politics, people want to treat the symptom instead of the problem.

Most of the time the reason for this is self-serving. Medical companies want to sell drugs and politicians want to get reelected.

They did that with MS-13 members in the beginning.
It totally backfied.
They enterened EL Salvador where they have no criminal record, and started the biggest recruiting campaign in gang history.
The members of MS-13's Hollywood LOCOS's click are consider the stongest leaders of the group since being deported.

It said that within a few years their strength and orginization will rival the Mob.
