Well, I'm about to close my Wachovia account after about 6 months because i've been unsatisfied with the service. What really pushed me over is that I was charged $10 to transfer funds from our savings to checking account.

I already have a credit union account, as well as an account with ING Direct, and with me closing the Wachovia account, I need a national bank so when I'm not within my credit union's reach, i'll still be able to have a bank that I can walk into in case I have any issues instead of being on the phone with some idiot.

Sure I could compare online, but I rather get some input from you guys. Who do you all bank with and are you happy with your bank?

I don't know, Wachovia is pretty good and that's what I use. You probably got charged because you did too many transfers or something.

My dad banks with Wells Fargo. On rare occasion, he gets a nickel-and-dime fee, but whenever that happens he calls the bank and raises enough of a stink that they just drop the charges. I have a savings and a checking account with them as well, and I don't get charged any fees for either of them.

My buddy banks with Washington Mutual and he's been pretty happy with them as well.
