Tofuball 03-09-2008, 09:29 PM So, I picked up this used thing in WV . . .
http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j252/Tofuball/My%20Tools/Bow1.jpg?t=1205116129
. . . and I know NOTHING about it, model, draw weight, how to adjust the 'sight' or whatever those things are. All I'm used to is a 30lb standard with no bells and whistles, I know next to nothing about compound bow brands or whatnot.
Any info would be GREAT.
I've got two of them, with a pile of accessories.

I shot an arrow into a dirt mound so hard the shaft bent. :P
And it's a pretty thick and hard to bend shaft.
Vert8813B 03-09-2008, 09:58 PM Do you have a guard or do you just plan on not scraping the shit up out of your arm?

Tofuball 03-09-2008, 10:17 PM My skin is like iron.
. . . It was during my fight with the gigantic radioactive robotic Rosanne Arnold . . . I Remember, it was just after the Blue Ox was killed in the battle, I hit the massive robot right in it's reactor core with my gigantic ax, but I realized all too late that the core rupture would fuse the ax to me forever . . .
. . . .
. . . . Nah. For now I just fire carefully, but I plan to get a guard in the future.
wotnartd 03-09-2008, 10:25 PM Yeah, pussies use arm guards.

That's what most people say until they have a piece of their arm fileted by a bow.
Tofuball 03-10-2008, 07:04 AM Basically, yeah.
I've had it happen, not fun :P
Vert8813B 03-10-2008, 07:06 AM I had it happen when I was like 14. I ripped the shit up out of my arm in front of my then girlfriend. Not one of my finer moments.
wotnartd 03-10-2008, 07:21 AM That's what most people say until they have a piece of their arm fileted by a bow.
I know, it's happened. I got over it.
Vert8813B 03-10-2008, 07:23 AM Your homoness and love for hot beef injections has thus increased your tolerance for pain.
wotnartd 03-10-2008, 07:34 AM No, I'm just not a pussy.
Vert8813B 03-10-2008, 09:03 AM I stand by my theory.

You are a homophobe.
If we do another beer swap, I am going to piss in all of them.

Ha. I'll do better with the beers I send you.

I never used a guard when I was younger just shooting a 35lb recurve. Nowadays I just wear long sleeves in case I were to screw up
Vert8813B 03-10-2008, 09:03 PM I find putting an arc in to my arm impacts aim of the bow. This may be just a me thing though.
wotnartd 03-10-2008, 10:18 PM I cock my wrist out a little bit and wear long sleeves, also.
I can't pull back more than 60 lbs, though. :(
Supper 03-13-2008, 11:48 AM Shoulda bought a mathews.

'06 Switchback 30" 70lb bow.
and if the bow is the right draw length for your wingspan and you have correct form, strings/cables should never come into contact with your arm.
I'm really hoping to be able to pick up a Switchback LD 31.5" 70lb or the new Drenaline LD 31" 70lb
Tofuball 03-13-2008, 12:41 PM Sure, if you can find me a Mathews for the $6 I paid for the above pictured bow, then I'm all for it.
