Any guesses on about what that should be?

umm, depends entirely on a ton of variables.

I'd think anything over 60psi should make you happy... "ideal" is probably 75psi.

even results (all cyls the same) is far more important anyways.

I guess I should be more specific. 2L I6 ...RB20DET, everything I've read says 180ish for compression on these motors but I am sure it only has a 6:1 ratio(b/c of the turbo) so 180 seems high to me.

OK they are 8.5 to 1 on RB20DET 180 still seems high, mine are 120ish.

How about... a nissan forum?

b/c they will just look at the book say 12bar @300 Rpm and say my motor is done.

You're saying that you want us to tell you your motor is fine even though a Nissan forum says it isn't? Fuck off.

I don't give a fuck if you think my motor is fine or fucked. I am just trying to get a idea of what an engine w/8.5:1 compression would be for numbers b/c the car pulls hard, runs great, doesn't burn oil, and the plugs aren't soaked in oil. But has 120PSI of compression, which apparently is shit.

120psi isn't /that/ bad.

BIG difference between 8.5:1 and 6:1 LOL.

6:1 compression ratio? Thats hilarious. :P

120PSI aint so hot, do a leakdown test to find out if its your rings or something head related (such as cam timing)

J_R

I probably should do a leakdown test, but I don't have a problem with my engine. It is just that when this comes up on other forums people condemn the motors to which I don't think is right if mines drives great w/ 120PSI compression.

I know, sorry...

turbochargers can hide alot.

my rx-7 runs fine with 110 psi compression :P

and it's 9.0:1!

google.com
search for "rb20det compression"
150psi seems average for used motors
by the book is 171 @ 300
120 seems low. but if its even across all cylinders and it runs fine, then who cares? drive it as it is. rb20 longblocks are cheap anyway.

Well, yeh, 110 is good for an RX-7 ;P Operating range.

Just don't go below 85 . . .

. . . I knew a guy who daily drove an 86 Base with 0-0-62F and 0-61-60R, it ran fine, sounded like crap, and got horrible fuel economy and acceleration :D

. . . then after about 8 months it died, never to start again.

Wait, isn't this every RX-7?

...and acceleration

nevermind...

Nah, my 'vert got pretty sweet MPG.

My S4 NA gets about 24 mph at highway speeds.

I can pull 24 out of the Cobra at highway speeds (26 if it's a long burn down I5 where I can set the cruise at 72 for hours), what do you average across a normal tank of gas?

Tofuball

At 80mph sustained with a few WOT pulls up on ramps I pulled ~26mpg.

My TII is incapable of that . . . for now.
