Tofu,
I started reading your book. I finished chapter 1. So far it gives me the heebie jeebies. I have a small problem with any premise that starts with the notion that the Gentiles have it all wrong. This is probably how every cult gets started. I'm not saying that the Gentiles have it all perfectly figured out but I wouldn't look to non-believing Jews for an idea of how this is supposed to work.
On to chapter 2.

It says that?
I missed that. :P

Yes. The first chapter is the setup. It's comparison is between that of Copernicus and the geocentric supporters with Jews and Christendom. For certain I believe that God will call the Jews again, but I don't think their current method is one for us adopt in any way.

I really didn't read that from the text.
Did you get the notion from the author that there should be a distinction between believing Jews and Gentiles today? I don't agree with this position in the slightest. Are you still reading the Objections to Jesus series?
Chapter 2 was good. It pointed out that certain hebraisms just don't work out in the greek language. Where the hell is yzf?

Distinction, sure, barrier or separation, nah. It doesn't really change much though, whether you're part of the tree or grafted in.
YZF was banned :/
Tofu,
I'm almost finished with your book. Did you read the whole thing?

i dont understand...does not the author 'reads' the book he writes?
haven't heard from ol' bx lately, sadly
I've had a busy summer. I'm still around. This book is pretty good, it debunks the notion of replacement theology. However, I think the author goes a bit overboard in his generalizations of Christians. I've never been taught to believe in replacement theology.

Here's my problem. Did God intend for the gentiles to practice the worship of the jews? If so, then there is no distinction. For example, God tells the jews to observe passover for ever. If I was in a messianic jewish congregation around passover, of course I would expect the teacher to mention to the jews that they should observe, but would he tell me that I shouldn't?
I understand we as believers have different functions in the body, but does this also extend to our ethnicity? I don't think that God makes that distinction in the scriptures. At least not for believers.

Errr, what? Where's it say that in the book? :P
bx checked out....
I'm back. I've been away celebrating the Columbus holiday.
Jason,
PM your address so I can mail this book back to you. Or I could send it to YZF if he's interested. It's a pretty good read.

OK. If he wants to read it, cool by me.
I'll PM my addy. Or you could drop by for dinner someday :P
I think this book would be pretty far down my priority list. Near the top is anything by A.W. Tozer.
Your excuse is lame and reveals your anti-semitic inclination. What are you reading now besides the bible? You have no excuse. PM me your address and I'll mail it to you.
Have you read Tozer's "The Pursuit of God" and is it worth reading?
