I would definitely bury those guys in bad publicity. I'd call every news station in the area and make this dealer suffer.

If I were the dealer, i'd just fix the car, pay him some $, fire the mechanic, and keep it hush hush. That's a lot better than the amount of sales he's going to lose in the long run from the picketing. Being stubbon and telling the owner what you're "NOT" going to do, especially when they're being reasonable is the wrong route to take.
