I tried to sign up for a FNBO savings account (5.05% APY) but got denied without a reason. I sent an e-mail asking why. Untill then, does anyone know of a savingings account with a 5% + interest rate? I'm looking into a short term (1-5 year) CD but I need access to my money untill probly the end of april.

Either you have a low credit score, a delinquent bank account balance that has been reported to the credit bureaus, or a combination of both...Could be something else...
My fiance works for Wachovia. From what she tells me ,these are a couple of reasons people get denied for a bank account.

I have a 4.75% or 5% online account with Capital One. Can't remember which percentage it is.
