I'm not a homeowner, but I just changed the bulbs in my apartment to those compact-fluorescent ones...like they show in this video:

seems like it's saving $$ but it's hard to tell on the electric bill b/c it's summertime and the air conditioner throws it off. Has anyone actually had the bulbs in long enough to tell me if they ended up paying off?

yanked out all the 75w+ bulbs in my house (this place was stupid bright when I moved in), and yeah, they made a difference.

I just started replacing them in my new house. It has a TON of lights and it's just insane to have 5000sqft worth of 75W bulbs.
