I've been meaning to get a pistol and I keep hearing good things about glocks as far as reliability and handling goes, what do you guys think of them?

Do a search. There have been three or four Glock threads that I have started. I personally love my G17, even have a .22lr conversion kit for it.

It all depends on what you need a gun for. But a good way to look at it is the less maintenance and the more reliable it is the less accurate it is.

^ not neccisarily. Glocks may not be a race gun, but they hold their own in the accuracy department pretty well.

Yeah but to someone like me who shoots 2 or 3 thousand rounds a month I can notice a big difference.

not a lot of people do classes and comps. I am one of the guys thats in the 2 - 300 rounds throught he gun a month on the large end. Lately its been more like 100 rounds once every other month. School has cut into the gun fund pretty hard.

As far as accuracy, there are those of us that don't really are for a 10 ring hit so long as its just center of mass. If my gun will still kill, I'm still happy with it.

Yeah you have to match the gun to the job. Glocks are like the AK-47 of semi auto pistols. Which is saying allot.

I like glocks. There's peace of mind knowing that the chances of it jamming up when the shit hits the fan are like 100 to 1.

Really it all boils down to what you are wanting the weapon for. If all your wanting is something to carry for personal protection and dont see yourself firing alot and its really a reliable pistol your looking for you cant do much better then a J frame... No limp wristing or double feeds to worry about... Plus if you can honestly say your not going to do much training with it then you can forget trying to do an immediate action drill when something does f*ck up and just pull the trigger on a fresh round.
