My wife asked me yesterday if I wanted to go to a car show on Sunday. She told me it was free admission. She then tells me it's a Mustang car show and it was in San Diego (roughly a 2 1/2 hour drive from here and a 3 hour drive back because of traffic).

her: I want you to go with me
me: I don't like mustangs
her: you're a hypocrite, you own one
me: I know, but I don't want to go see my car in different colors...if I want to see another mustang I'll be sure to open my eyes while I drive to and from work.
her: But there will be mach 1s, cobras and saleens
me: I don't care. If you want to go so bad, go you by yourself on Sunday and call *my friend's name* and tell him we are no longer going to the old school Toyota meet on Saturday because you're going to put too many miles on the car and not to mention spend at least 30 bucks in fuel.
her: I'll drive slow and I won't buy anything
me: I don't care if your driving 55 mph all the way...you're going to waste at least 30 bucks in fuel.
her: fine I won't go.

Listen our weekend budget is way more than a measly thrity dollars, but it's the way the money will be spent that kills me.

Mustangs are like civics, everyone has one. I don't have to go to a stupid show to see them.

I'm on yours. But obviously, for some strange reason that goes against all logic and budget, your wife wants to go. If she's that adamant about it, and you don't go... she's gonna make your like miserable for at least a couple o days.

I don't care for mustangs either. But its always fun to look at cars, and at least you know the company is great.

Just out of principle I wouldn't drive 2+ hours for a car show. Unless it had tons of amazing classics and exotics I'm not wasting my time. Tell her to find a mustang meet that is closer and you will go with her to that. You know.. to compromise. Who am I kidding? I would never go to a mustang meet.
