Etnies_Chic 09-06-2004, 06:24 PM I was coming home the back way today to miss traffic from the stupid apple festival. the roads were wet and it was sprinkling...i was going around a 15mph turn between 10-15mph, and there was a blazer coming towards me, before the turn, and he was starting to get into my lane, so i hit the brakes and i slid and hit him head on, a cop came, firetrucks and shit, then they left.... then like an hour later a trooper came and wrote in teh accident report that i was doing 50.. and theres now way you can do 20+ on that turn without doing a 360 or going off the road.... the trooper was bitching me out, asking why i was on that road, when i lived on the other side of town, and why one of my friends was there, and just being an ass to me, and he wouldn't let my parents be there while i was doing the paperwork and while he was questioning me and everything, like hes suppose to cause i'm under 18, and i got a ticket for going to fast for road conditions, and it didn't help that the blazer guy said i was doing 40+, and the cop said that i had to be going faster or it wouldn't of damaged my car so much. the ride heights accounts for the damage. my car can be fixed.. she will be fixed, it'll just take a few weeks prolly. preludedude 09-06-2004, 07:09 PM there goes your insurance....your parents prolly pay it anyway...so you're off the hook... Mark 95SE SpartanTS 09-06-2004, 09:04 PM Anytime you're under 18 and you get in an accident, you're almost always in the wrong. Regardless of how right you are. rxtasy 09-07-2004, 10:52 AM damn that sux, i'd fight it. i'm guessing he was no longer in ur lane after u hit him? 91lx 09-07-2004, 01:17 PM cars can be replaced, people cant. just be glad you're in one piece. JPAccord 09-07-2004, 01:21 PM sorry about your wreck, and youre setting yourself up for some great female driver jokes. =) Etnies_Chic 09-07-2004, 01:41 PM sorry about your wreck, and youre setting yourself up for some great female driver jokes. =) haha.. well i hit another car, its not like i was putting makeup on and i hit a tree or something stupid like that. haha. Etnies_Chic 09-07-2004, 03:00 PM Well.. garage just called.... frame is past the point of being fixed... JPAccord 09-07-2004, 03:21 PM guess it wont be fixed in a few weeks, new car! Etnies_Chic 09-07-2004, 03:29 PM yup, looking for an AWD DSM right now.. if anyone knows of one.... Stegall 09-07-2004, 05:20 PM the blazer wasnt parked was it ? Etnies_Chic 09-07-2004, 07:48 PM no hunny, it wasn't parked, it was moving, but the guy claims that he saw me slide and stopped, but wouldn't it make sense to try and get out of the way instead of just sit right where i was sliding? Stegall 09-07-2004, 09:03 PM i think u beat the record time on totaling a car for Illstreet. I think I might have held it before you HTM Impreza WRX 09-08-2004, 01:05 AM as i said before...awd DSM is too much of a car for a new driver 91lx 09-08-2004, 01:42 AM ive only totalled one car in 6 years of having a license.that doesnt seem too bad compared to some ppl on here + htm. more than my fair share of "moving violations" tho. HTM Impreza WRX 09-08-2004, 08:30 AM i've yet to total a car being my fault...in 5 years. Etnies_Chic 09-08-2004, 09:17 AM as i said before...awd DSM is too much of a car for a new driver Tibby.. since when does a GST come as awd? my car was fwd... HTM Impreza WRX 09-08-2004, 10:29 AM either way...you locked up the brakes...the difference between fwd and awd is very little in that situation. preludedude 09-08-2004, 11:06 AM i wanna know how you slide doing 10-15mph....i can slam on brakes in rain and i wont slide...maybe its my hot roto-tech slotted and drilled rotors... :rasta: Mark 95SE Etnies_Chic 09-08-2004, 11:32 AM lets see, 90 degree curve, wet road, no ABS... i slid.. JPAccord 09-08-2004, 12:05 PM you gotta be careful in the rain, its a whole different situation. Stegall 09-08-2004, 01:17 PM You all forget that Tibby drives a AWD wrx.... its CLEARLY not enough car for him, seeing as he is the badest of bad ass car drivers.... Insted of wrecking cars, Tibby insted chooses to attempt to mod them, take them apart, try to put them back together, and in the end, just gives up and lets some one else fix his mistakes. Cosby 09-09-2004, 01:30 AM ditto on the allen comment... If you were doing 10-15 mph and he was doing 15mph then the impact would be 25-30mph. Depending on where it hit and what part of the "frame" is bent I'd say it should be fixable fairly easily. At 30 mph you'd need a new bumper support, maybe rad support, hood, lights. The frame damage isn't necessarily beyond repair but the labor and parts would exceed the value of the car. I don't think you'd run into an inability to repair the car until ~40 mph. I guess it all depends on the situation. In any case, sorry to hear about your accident. Get ABS or learn to brake next time. Also, when you start to slide that is a good indicator that you should let off the brakes and you will regain control. tbagin is back 09-09-2004, 03:54 AM well either way her car is totaled and has no way of being fixed so good luck to buying new car..... Also, when you start to slide that is a good indicator that you should let off the brakes and you will regain control. i hit them at kinda an angle, because i was trying to pull her into the grass when i realized that they weren't gonna try to avoid the wreck, so its like folded on the passenger side, it'll cost too much to fix, so i'm putting the engine into a AWD car, and then sending her off to jeff (the forgotten hightach member) 91lx 09-09-2004, 01:18 PM u can prob buy an awd car cheaper than putting a motor in. i saw a 92 gsx go for $660 on ebay a few months ago. looked pretty clean. Etnies_Chic 09-09-2004, 01:54 PM Its not gonna cost me anything to get the engine swapped. Stegall 09-09-2004, 10:19 PM i did nothing to provoke you allen...let it die you just provoke every one else, and most every one else wont tell you off :tear: 91lx 09-09-2004, 11:34 PM If you are seeking good will, remember you must show favor-good will. If you want to be blessed, you must find ways to bless others. HTM Impreza WRX 09-10-2004, 03:00 AM blazing civic, force fed, and you != everyone Etnies_Chic 09-10-2004, 05:47 AM Has anyone noticed that almost every thread has turned into people bitching at eachother? |
