By now you've heard that Cory Lidle, NY Yankees pitcher, died when he crashed his plane into a NY highrise.
On MSNBC, they started the story with one reporter asking another "So tell me about Cory's year - did it end as a good one or a bad one?"
I know they were talking about his athletic year, but for fuck's sake he just died in a fiery planecrash in the side of a building. Who cares what his stats were? I'd say CRASHING INTO AN APARTMENT BUILDING, KILLING YOURSELF AND POSSIBLY OTHERS, IS A YEAR ENDING AS A BAD ONE.

CNN made the comment that it would not have happend if the building had not been there.

You should here one of the idiots over at rx8club. he said he gets his info before the media does and he said Cory had less than 20 hrs of flight time... .. he had 95+ hrs of solo flight time as of 9/8/06 . He said it himself in a NY TIMES article back then.

The one that's always stuck in my mind was back when TWA flight 800 crashed into the ocean.
I remember a reporter saying even if there where any survivors, the likelyhood of predatory fish in the area doesn't make their chances of being rescued very likely.

Another one "Cory Lidle died doing what he love" . yeah, sure. im sure he rather die screaming in an aircraft out of control and seconds form crashing into a manhattan condo, than die hugging his family.
