SpartanTS 07-02-2007, 12:41 PM I listed this laptop on ebay the other day for a quick sale since I pretty much had no use for it
http://cm.ebay.com/cm/ck/1065-29323-2357-0?uid=126947553&site=0&ver=EOISSA080805&item=180135077430&lk=URL
As you can see, the final bid was for $1,825. Well the laptop isn't worth more than $500, which was what I was expecting for the item.
The final bidder says he'll be paying "the amount he won it with" via Paypal. I'm not all that keen on ebay scams, but something just doesn't seem right here.
Any ideas?

Probably, I had some lady buy a cd changer for a Range Rover from me and paid like $400 for the thing. She said she paid so much because she wants it to be shipped right away to somehwere in London, and then sent me this fake ass email from PayPal saying there are certified funds waiting for me. It was clearly not legit.
SpartanTS 07-02-2007, 12:48 PM Yeah I think I'm going to make a second chance offer because this clearly doesn't seem legit at all. He has 100% positive feedback, but no high dollar purchases at all.
skydivr7673 07-02-2007, 12:49 PM one thing screams 'scam' to me....the fact that the buyer used this ebay account consistently, until this past February, when he stopped completely. That is, until now. We're talking about a buyer(never sold anything on there) that has bought more than a dozen items at a time throughout his time with eBay, and then it just shuts off four months ago...until he bids on your computer.
2ndGen.Rocket 07-02-2007, 12:53 PM The person that tried this with me had 100% positive feedback as well.
SpartanTS 07-02-2007, 12:58 PM Now I'll have to pay fuckin fees on $1,800, which fuckin sux. This is a crock of shit.
2ndGen.Rocket 07-02-2007, 01:17 PM Yeah ebay is a piece of shit hassle.
Tofuball 07-02-2007, 01:25 PM Usually when things like that happens, it's a hacked accout.

Not if you report it as a non-paying bidder.

yea...wait it out. See if the payer is verified. Also contact ebay...they will help you out.

no you wont--you can contact ebay and let them know that you are disputing the bid. Tell them you think you have been a victim of fraud, and show them proof. Well, first, let the buyer actually have the chance to be legit--see if he pays you the money or not. THEN go to ebay if he doesnt. Ebay will credit your account the fees if they agree that it was a fraudulent attempt.
95whitepep 07-02-2007, 05:22 PM oh the unspeakable irony of that statement
But its ok for you to hijack a thread??? That you feel justified because it is Sky?

Terrh 07-04-2007, 12:16 AM listing unavailable.
anyways, I'd accept the paypal money and see if it shows up.
if it does, put it in your bank account.
when it arrives, ship the laptop.
it takes TWO to bid it up that high, not just one.
Who's the other bidder, or how did this get resolved?
skydivr7673 07-05-2007, 06:50 AM why can't you ignore one comment, then?
I get it....you couldnt help yourself--you didnt have the self-control it takes to not make the comment, but you then fault someone else for replying?
News flash, youre an idiot. Grow up, Mark, youre a 40 year old man who has less maturity than my 10 year old.
2ndGen.Rocket 07-05-2007, 08:13 AM This argument reminds me of the scene in Blazing Saddles, where there is just a travelling brawl moving through different movie sets and eventually out in front of Warner Brothers studio.

reminds me of chicken v. peter from family guy
