rodney87 03-18-2007, 03:44 PM Not much of the party type, dont like large crowds of drunk idiots. Especially if my car is anywhere near the vicinity. If I go to a bar its uaually this small hole in the wall with no blasting music or dance floor. Would rather kick back at a friends house and have a few beers then spend the night in an overpriced club, even if I'm invited by a group of drunken girls. So I get told about once a month, usually by said drunken girls, that I'm such an old basterd it hurts :blah: . Anyone else with me on this one or am I some freak of nature? Ark2 03-18-2007, 04:08 PM I'm an old man in the sense that I don't like going to clubs or getting smashed all that often. Kind of wish that I stuck with that philosphy last night... Tofuball 03-18-2007, 05:09 PM I was born old :P Supper 03-18-2007, 05:30 PM I don't go to bars, don't go to parties, don't go to football/basketball/whatever games. etc, etc, blah blah. I'm an old man. Onlyonthurs! 03-18-2007, 06:52 PM I did all that a lot a while back (all of college and some after)...i just got burned out on the whole club/get trashed alot scene. its exhausting and gets boring. Terrh 03-18-2007, 07:28 PM I was born old :P me too. No bars for me. I can't even remember the last time I was drunk. and I'm 22. :P beefhole 03-18-2007, 08:16 PM I'm not much into "loud" bars or clubs either. I don't mind a quiet bar with the guys, but i'd rather chill at a friends house or have people over my apartment to kick back. rodney87 03-18-2007, 09:14 PM Ahh TFL.... "Get off our lawns!" preludedude 03-18-2007, 09:27 PM Not much of the party type, dont like large crowds of drunk idiots. Especially if my car is anywhere near the vicinity. Anyone else with me on this one or am I some freak of nature? not a freak...clubs are for homos anyway....just take it that you are mature than most people... Mark Alex-7 03-18-2007, 10:51 PM the more I go to clubs the more I see how insipid it all is if that makes me old, so be it What kind of clubs have you been going to? Ark2 03-18-2007, 10:59 PM Hey, Thursday is the new Friday rodney87 03-18-2007, 11:01 PM What are you doing on Thursdays thats so fun? Say No To Pistons 03-18-2007, 11:10 PM What kind of clubs have you been going to? My exact thoughts  . Rx7club, yo. Ark2 03-18-2007, 11:15 PM What are you doing on Thursdays thats so fun? At school, a lot of people go home for the weekends (like to their families) and they leave on Friday. Because of this, Thursday is like Friday and Friday is not that big of a deal. wotnartd 03-19-2007, 12:06 AM I too, was born old. I just can't find the wherewithal to go out drinking. I'm 20, and I know enough people that I could go into a bar and have guys buy me drinks all morning (I work nights). Saturday, three guys I work with were begging me to come with them to drink (St. Patty's day and a guy had just worked his last day) and I was just like, "No, I don't have any cash, and I've just got some plans to chill..." If I had the cash... and my grandpa wouldn't come to the bar at like 9AM to just shake dice with the old geezers, I would have. But again, I just don't care. I work with alcoholics and at times, especially after a crazy long shift, it seems like a good idea. bx7 03-19-2007, 05:28 AM LOOSERS! What a bunch of loosers! Now, I'm not saying that any of it was right but when I was single and in my early twenties there was nothing more important to me then chasing skirts and no better place to do that then at some smokey gin joint with a DJ. Sheesh. Even though I had to work every weekday, my weekend literally started on Tuesday or Wednesday night; at whatever club was offerring cheap drinks for the ladies. This was all that my group of friends lived for. Every night and every bar presented an opportunity to hook up. I'll cut you old farts (>35) some slack because I'm long in tooth myself, but the rest of you need to get out more often. I will say this, if you don't hang out in bars because you're one of the elect, well, God bless you. I see the value in that choice as long as it's not made to be a condemnation of others. If you're not of the elect, you have no hope and you're not hooking up, what in the wide world of sports is wrong with you? It's CHICKS ON PARADE. It's like Man vs Wild out there. Hades12 03-19-2007, 09:07 AM Same here. Tuesday night wings and a beer is nice, But the smoke and loud music keeps me away. fcdrifter13 03-19-2007, 10:18 AM Before I turned 21 I was drunk all the time. The day I turned 21 I went in bought some vodka went home had a couple of friends over for a few drinks of said vodka and that was it. Ive only had a couple of cold beers at a bar since then and that was to go along with my steak(longhorns Bar FTMFW), and havnt been drunk off my ass since before I turned 21. Easy there slugger... not everyone is into bar flies. I do fine without having to get a woman sloshed. czarofzar 03-19-2007, 09:42 PM when i was young, I was clubbing like no tomorrow. Hell of a dancer too. That is if the girl was drunk enough. But yeah, chicks were easy, fights were plentiful. If you didn't go home with your thing suxed and your knuckles sore Friday, there was always Saturday nights in Detroit Rock City. ComradeGiant 03-19-2007, 11:28 PM I much prefer my own home to bars and clubs. I have been known to drink quite a bit, my buddy says I am the mightiest binge drinker of all time. But I don't do it constantly. I guess I'm sort of middle-aged then. SpartanTS 03-19-2007, 11:31 PM the usual, downtown I think most people are drawn to them because it's a temporary escape...for a brief time, with the right music (most of it sucks, but some is very catchy), it's a different world, I can see the attraction, and admittedly there are some smokin hot chicks....but soon the ugliness becomes apparent: drunken idiots, everyone with a cig in their hand, feeling like crowded sardines, you can't move or hear what the person next to you is saying it can still be fun on occasion with the right girl, but Thursday nights are better You mean to tell me you've been to some clubs downtown? Ever been to Stool Pigeons? :) rodney87 03-19-2007, 11:44 PM I will say this, if you don't hang out in bars because you're one of the elect, well, God bless you. I dont know what you mean by the "elect" but I got some ass less then 2 weeks ago, so this old fart isn't doing to bad. And I dont know what the bars around you are like but over here its uaually 2-1 guy to girl ratio with all the girls on the dance floor and a ring of horny guys around them trying to look cool but to chicken to dance  rx-7_Z06 03-20-2007, 12:53 AM I don't do clubs. Its just a bunch of skeezy people wanting to hook up. I'm an old man I guess because I don't really like parties all that much. bx7 03-20-2007, 04:53 AM lol maybe bx man needs to get laid ;) "chicks on parade" lol....more like herpes on parade Herpes, Chlamydia, Gonnorhea, whatever. There's pills for that stuff now-a-days. bx7 03-20-2007, 04:57 AM when i was young, I was clubbing like no tomorrow. Hell of a dancer too. That is if the girl was drunk enough. But yeah, chicks were easy, fights were plentiful. If you didn't go home with your thing suxed and your knuckles sore Friday, there was always Saturday nights in Detroit Rock City. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. I grew up in Baltimore which is a pretty good sized city and it has several 'club' areas. I can't imagine how sucky it would be to be young and in some small town in the middle of nowhere. bx7 03-20-2007, 05:02 AM I dont know what you mean by the "elect" but I got some ass less then 2 weeks ago, so this old fart isn't doing to bad. And I dont know what the bars around you are like but over here its uaually 2-1 guy to girl ratio with all the girls on the dance floor and a ring of horny guys around them trying to look cool but to chicken to dance  Cuttin' the rug is important, chicks dig it. Not that you gotta be some flouncy bloused high heeled homo. Anything worse than 2-1 is a sausage bar. rxtasy 03-20-2007, 12:09 PM by age, i'm probably the oldest one here. but as for being an "old guy", far from it. the whole getting plastered with ur friends at a club then puking ur guts out the next morning thing got old in a hurry. wrecking my first rx3 helped too. i was working 3rd shift at the time. got off work sat morning, stayed up all day, partied all night, and on the drive home around 1:30 i started nodding off and run off the road. over corrected and shot across to the opposite side ditch. something was in that ditch cause it about peeled the driver side front fender off the car. this was on an old country road so there was very little chance any other cars would be involved. haven't drank since and that's been an easy 15 or so yrs ago. as for the dancing part, never have. i can't dance, so i'm too chicken to get out there and look like a fool. Ark2 03-20-2007, 12:57 PM Cuttin' the rug is important... You're choice of words speak volumes here, old man. ;) rodney87 03-20-2007, 10:40 PM BUSTED lol. |
