Even though it was on CNN yesterday this was the best I could find regarding it. What do you think?

AUBURN -- Everyone's favorite white rapper, Eminem, made his way to Washington Sunday night, for what very well could have been his last performance in the Evergreen State. Or at least that's what the latest gossip surrounding the man most everyone loves to hate would have you believe.

According to a recent Detroit Free Press article, Mathers is considering retirement after his current tour. If his set at White River Amphitheatre truly was Eminem's last trek through Washington he definitely went out on top, delivering a set complete with extravagant stage props, plenty of pyro and lots of help from his friends.

While it definitely would be a shame for Eminem to drop out of the game so early, if he does leave he'll have a massive hip hop legacy near-impossible to top. The legacy is not just his more than $1 billion in record sales since 1999 but also his army of Shady Records artists which were all in tow for his Anger Management tour, including the white-hot 50 Cent and his G Unit crew, Olivia, Obie Trice, D12, Stat Quo and Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz, who were the only artists not on the Shady payroll.

Retirement rumors aside, the Anger Management tour has been marred with difficulties. Eminem's long time DJ, Green Lantern, dropped off the tour before it began to avoid beef with 50 Cent. Earlier last week Eminem's latest protg, Stat Quo, and current DJ, Alchemist, were hospitalized after the tour bus they were on was in an accident in Missouri. Stat Quo performed with bruised ribs while Alchemist is still recovering from the accident.

50 Cent and G-Unit's set included a stage that featured a decapitated Statute of Liberty head and a wrecked cop car. While he is not as charismatic as his peroxide-haired mentor, 50 did a decent job of rocking the mic. His set mixed G-Unit material with his own songs, including "Candy Shop" and "What Up Gangsta." Strangely, 50 did not perform two of his biggest hits, "In Da Club" or "Wanksta," instead he sang each song's chorus.

When Eminem was on stage he owned the crowd. He performed most all of his hits, including "Mosh," "Lose Yourself," "Cleaning Out My Closet" and others. His stage setup was a three-story building where various sidekicks and hypemen would come out of the doors. As part of his set Eminem addressed the retirement rumors, saying if he were to retire and come back he would use the moniker Rain Man, which was a transition to the song of the same name.

Lil Jon, of "Yeeeah" and "Whuuut?" fame, opened the night performing with longtime comrades The Eastside Boyz. The self-proclaimed "king of crunk" urged the ladies to get low and shake it like a saltshaker, in what was, by the time Eminem left the stage four hours later, a highly forgettable set.

From what I read, it's not that MM is retiring but that he's putting away one of his alter egos. Remember, that whitey raps under the names Marshall Mathers, Eminem, and Slim Shady. He's thinking about winding down the Eminem name and just carrying on a Mathers and Shady, and spending a bit more time producing other peoples albums.

You've got the basic idea, but backwards. Slim Shady is his alias that is based on the drugs, killing, etc. etc. I think he's going to hang it up for good. He's been slowly transitioning away from his crazy lyrics to just stupid stuff, with the exception of a few songs..."When I'm Gone".
I saw him on the Anger Management tour in Atlanta a few years ago, it was pretty good. If you can find Hellbound, get that. One of his best songs in my opinion, even with the lyrics in front of you, it's tough to not mess up on the words, you just have to hear it.
