But I think that it's straight up BS if it's going to be used for privated sector, the owners are not compensated accordingly and what not.

BATMAN 01-23-2006, 08:53 PM If it's used wisely for public sector then I'm somewhat OK with it granted that the owners are compensated accordingly. But I think that it's straight up BS if it's going to be used for privated sector, the owners are not compensated accordingly and what not. Zero 01-23-2006, 09:05 PM :gives: Just tell us more about detox plz. a2z 01-24-2006, 02:19 AM that shit just happened here in the dallas area. A bunch of people lost there homes for the new cowgirl stadiem. its a bunch of bull shit , work your whole life to pay for it just to lose it for something like that. meddle 01-24-2006, 02:31 AM Most of the time eminent domain is pulled when a bunch of handout seeking hillbillys won't accept reasonable offers for their shitbox homes. My buddy owned a home in a nice section of west sTL county. But his neighborhood was really old. The homes were form the 70's and built when it was still more aof a rural community. They were offered 150% of the values of their shitty 140-160k homes and 70% declined in the vote. Then they where all forced out at a flat payment that ws the median value of the neighborhood homes. Hahaha you greedy bitches. I feel bad for my friend though, it was his starter home and he was definatly ready to take the money and run. Skylance 01-24-2006, 08:04 AM Ever hear about Shenandoah National Park - located in Central/Northern Virginia? It was obtained by the gov't through eminent domain. My family owned a good portion of it way way way back in the day. Most people received NO compensation for their land and homes. This is usually not mentioned in web sites, books, or articles. In fact, if the people that used to live on the park are even mentioned, the term "relocated" is used often with no further explanation. Just do a quick google search for "Nicholson" and "Shenandoah National Park". Some informational links on the area: http://www.patc.net/hiking/destinations/snp_page.html http://www.visitshenandoah.com/park_history.shtml Some books: http://www.snpbooks.org/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SNPA&Product_Code=INSHAD http://www.patc.net/store/book.htm http://www.snpbooks.org/ DarkAngelKamui 01-24-2006, 08:17 AM Ever hear about Shenandoah National Park - located in Central/Northern Virginia? Kinda awesome that you were tied into all that in some way, though.... Skylance 01-24-2006, 12:23 PM I have, and that sucks dude.... Kinda awesome that you were tied into all that in some way, though.... I am glad I'm tied into it, because it gives me a better appreciation for the area. Most tourists that come in have no respect, and some don't even realize that people actually lived there at one time. Most of what Pollock reported was a flat out lie. They had churches and schools, and were much more educated than he reported. Although the part about moonshine was definitely true ;) Some of them wrote poetry - I don't think anyone actually became famous, but some of their works can be found in the books in the links I provided earlier. |
