I'm looking to get a 300+gb external HD(possibly several). Any suggestions/recomendations?

You should check Woot more often.

They has a 250GB internal HD for $55 shipped. You could have gotten a case for it and been golden...

I'd try newegg. They always have great prices and they ship really fast.

What are your requirements? Firewire, Network Capability, etc?

USB 2.0, Firewire or Ethernet...doesn't matter. Although, from what I read, USB is faster. The main point of the thread is brand suggestions. I have a Ximeta Ethernet external and it recently took a shit on me. So I'm looking for something reliable.

With HDs in general, stay away from maxtor. Seagates are good, but kinda expensive. I've had good luck with WD drives.

Why not go with the LaCie Biggerdisk?

It should more then cover your storage needs.

I have a WD 80 gig that I bought about 3 or 4 years ago....I pretty much use it as a portable and have never had a problem with it

I had a 250GB WD external that got a little warm and took a crap on me recently. It always acted weird before that too and it was only about a year old.
