@ this time you have heard about the honor student beating in a Chicago school district.
This is one of many problems surrounding our schools...perhaps I should say some schools.
"This can only happen in city schools, not ours."

When I was in school there were fights, but we went to class and learned.
Is there a way to stop the violence ? Yeah, I'm dreaming...
Do we have faith in the schools ? I do...

You could put the black trouble makers on chain gangs. That'd help.

Yes, but treating children as adults isn't always the way to handle trouble. Often the troublemakers are even more mentally and emotionally immature than most kids their own age. They are crying out for attention. The problem is, from a young age negative attention is all they can get from the overworked, overtaxed system and often they are ignored at home or only get any attention from their guardians from acting out as well. To most teens in these situations the only sense of acceptance they have is from their friends. And, if their friends are following a negative influence, they will as well. Only these days kids' negative influences are much more complex than they used to be. Instead of being caught smoking a cigarette you might catch the modern punkass selling weed. Instead of getting caught cutting class, he's been out of school for over a month and when his mother tries to force him to go he beats her up. The problems are much more complex than a few bad seeds. Kids are not bad, bad parenting and bad influences in society make them that way. Rehabilitation is one helper, the other is counselling and positive role models, and proper education instead of packing 40 or more kids in a room with one overworked and underpaid teacher who hasn't been given enough supplies and is constantly under pressure to produce test results showing that her students are reaching some standard decided by councils of people who have usually not set foot in a real classroom for over twenty years and have no idea what it's really like anymore. Or worse, they come from the suburbs, where reality rarely ever seeps into their consciousness. How could they possibly know what it's like for Johnny, living in a tiny apartment in an unsafe neighborhood, Johhny, who's mother works two jobs, father is in prison and big brother is a gangbanger? We can blame Johnny or we can realize we never gave the poor kid a chance from the get-go.

Scum bags make the decision to be scum bags. Do you think they don't understand right from wrong? They do, they just don't care because they're depraved pieces of shit.

WOW, ignorant assumption can travel in lifeforms able to type.
I would say I disagree with you but I would rather wait for you to explain your point without an insult to the children in my hypothetical and instead clarify for me why you seem to believe evil is just born that way. Actually, that would be as bad as me assuming you will never get any wiser or will never learn to answer people's well thought out responses with more than a one liner cliche. Perhaps, someday you will have learned better and perhaps someday you will be able to explain yourself intelligently as well. I have hope anyway. I have hope for the kids who have to be taught right from wrong but seem to never learn until they've slipped through the cracks of both education and failed parenthood and then end up instead in our badly run justice system (ironically named) and back on the street as hardened criminals doomed to repeat offend because there is very little thought put into rehabilitation these days...AND I have hope you'll become semi-literate someday and a little less paranoid of people who have differing opinions than yourself.

Nope. I just work hard and I think this is disgusting and against everything I believe in.
