This is because the roofline curves downward the further back you go.

This means that the 5'8" height is not at the back of the van--the roofline is lower back there.....which happens to be where you are standing in the pic. So, you are a tiny bit taller than the section of roof that is shorter than 5'8". The 5'8" height listed is for the highest point that the roof reaches.
