91lx 08-15-2002, 02:53 AM I was wondering what people thought about the Focus SVT. I havent really heard anyone talk about it I was just wondering. I personally think its an OK car but I wouldnt buy one. I heard it handles well. Slap a turbo on and you can get a good bit of power. 08-15-2002, 01:20 PM it looks like a mini mini van Texas89LX 08-15-2002, 07:56 PM needs some more power....... and a nice limited slip like the Spec V's everything else kicks ass for a sport compact 91lx 08-15-2002, 10:23 PM You can get a JR blower for $2799 and get 231-238hp. MM&FF got it to run 13.22 at 102. Pretty kick ass for a 4-cyl Ford and youve got a 6-spd too. Impreza75 08-27-2002, 08:00 PM Not fast enough. Beat one in the Impreza from a roll a couple days before I left for school. Really good engine note though. They are about as fast as the last generation Si. Hell who knows, maybe the guy couldn't drive it yet. Impreza75 08-27-2002, 08:01 PM May look funny. But the Focus is still a hell of a rally car. Having Colin McRae helps too. 09-04-2002, 09:05 PM Is the Focus Rally Car AWD? I wish the stock HP was closer to the WRC figure . 09-05-2002, 01:03 AM It would be BAD if you could buy rally cars for like $5000 or so Texas89LX 09-05-2002, 10:39 AM rally cars have been AWD since it was invented..... 09-05-2002, 11:49 AM Seems like it'd make you faster to remember your own directions very well instead carrying along a navigator. 09-05-2002, 05:05 PM There is no way you could do it efficiently...The drivers job is to DRIVE not navigate Texas89LX 09-05-2002, 07:11 PM trust me, if that would make them faster they'd do it Impreza75 09-06-2002, 01:12 AM Why the hell would you have a 2WD rally car??? Anyway, beleive me, there is no way you could remember the turns, its not like they are on a road course going in circles so they can memorize them. They are just given a map of the course and have to make their pace notes off of those. Having the navigator is crucial to going as fast as you can, and not having to slow down trying to figure out whats coming up next, specialy coming up over a blind hill or having a jump around the next corner. I mean, you could do it yes, but not NEARLY as fast. Without the navigator it wouldn't be as fast paced as it is. Look at some of the SCCA events where they have no navigator, to boring cause they can't really go super fast except in the straights. |
