I'm not sure what we can do to get this place back up and running again. Personally, I don't think we discuss enough "car stuff" here, considering that's how this forum was conceived.

Even with the BS that goes on, it only lasts for a short while in spurts. After the argument(s) are over, posters stop posting. Hell we haven't seen much of DAK, Batman, or even YZF as of lately. Not saying they're not here, but they're not posting either.

This forum really isn't that bad. Sure, it's not as heavily trafficked as some "other" forums.... but it's not FULL OF PEPLE WHO CAN'TTYPE AND R IMMATRUE AND STUFF LOL!!11!@!!

And it's reasons like that I turn to IRC and text-only BBSs (Yeah, they still exist). You kinda have to know how to use a computer to use that stuff, since BBSs existed primarily back when computers were expensive and hard to use, 9600-baud internet was fast, and websites like "myspace", "ebay", and "youtube" were totally unheard of.

1--there has not been any issue with the anti-YZF things for two weeks now. How much longer are you going to hang on to that and complain about how it needs to stop? IT ALREADY HAS....

Where is that samne attitude when it comes to the x-rated side, or political opinions, or anything else? If this forum is to be a place without the biased censorship, then it needs to go in all directions to have any value. At this point, some of you are saying that the religious talk needs to stop, but that's not the problem. Everyone else gets to talk about whatever they choose, so censoring Mark is pointless and hypocritical. Like I said, the battles with Mark stopped two weeks ago and I made my apology and made my peace with him. Perhaps it is not just the religious posts--perhaps the REPLIES are the problem too. For what it's worth, the STB died with those threads. You know it. I know it. Everyone else knows it. The battles did not kill off the forum....the end of the battles coincide precisely with the slowdown in traffic.

i'm pleasantly surprised so many people replied to this thread... at least we all still care about TFL.

i think the bazillion subforums definitely need to be consolidated and reorganized... i posted a hyperflex suspension question in technical and got one reply in two weeks. if i were to post it in STB it would've been moved.

not knocking on the mods; i can understand why having alot of subforums and keeping the categories organized is desirable... but at least with the number of members we have now, it's making it hard to talk about certain subjects.

and i think our focus, above all else, should be cars... that's basically the one thing we all have in common. it is hard though, because there are other more focused forums for a particular make of a car... and usually forums that are 'any and all make welcome' forums focus on a region instead. not sure how to work this problem out yet...

I think the focus of this forum should be just exactly what the address says a (or the) forum lounge. I mean yeah we all have interests in cars but there are tons of other car forums out there that have more information stored in their data base than theforumlounge currently has. This forums' layout may be just too big for the amount of ACTIVE users it currently contains.

There are about only five sections that I think this forum should contain:
STB
Smack Talk (Bible reading / racism)
Sex and Relationships (pr0n)
Computing (geek pr0n)
Entertainment (anime/music/movies/tv/etc)

Ive noticed that after I blocked YZF (as many people did) I unblocked him because he was one of the only ones posting shit in anything(and for once wasnt preaching), im not putting up for him just using as an example. ANd if you think about it most of the people you say you want to leave make you come back because it gives you something to bitch about.

NOw on the topic of the forum. Small Talk, which used to be its own site was brought into PBnation. Half of the members or more go there just for the small talk section. Its lay out is basically the same as this but for somereason it is way more popular. Mainly because of people constantly talking about how cool it is on other forums. Now PBnation is in the top five largest site on the internet, only because of that section.

So basically what we need to do is talk about this site, promote it to our freinds off the internet nad get them to join, and then they talk to people thye know, and so on and so forth.

The subforums could be pruned but they're there for search engines. Unfortunately not enough people have linked to this site to make it popular in the search engines. Ultimately we have to have this site ranked relatively high to bring enough people in to make it sustainable without spamming. Additionally there has been a large decrease in edgy material. ie. boobs
