Hey guys I just have a question I wanted to ask, any help would be appreciated. Here's the deal... a very good friend of mine is pretty tight with the owner of a performance shop down here and that owner has 2 FD's.

He's putting an LS1 into one of his third gen's and is selling the Engine/drivetrain, ecu, wiring harnesses, intercooler, the whole nine. Anyways hes going to put it up for sale soon but before he does he offered it to me for 3000 CDN out the door. It has stronger apex seals and the transmission has an ACT stage 3 clutch in it.

the engine has 15,000 documented kilometres on a rebuilt engine, has the stock hitachi twins in good condition.

I have an N/a fc (mods in profile) he quoted me 1500 CDN for the swap, or he would knock 500$ off if i bought a stand alone and did that myself. He said the 1500 would be a flat rate. If anything complications would come up in the swap he would still do it for the aforementioned price. He is a trust worthy guy, so no problem there.

I havent really read anything about this swap...so is this a good idea? Am i going to run into any major problems? Should I do the swap myself or pay the 1500 and get it done professionally? Any help would be great.

id pay to have it installed if he is going to assume liability that it will run and drive without problems when he delivers the car to you.

Depends how much money you have and whether you know what you're doing or not.

What "stronger" apex seals is it using?

For 1500 I'd have him do it.

He said they were some type of 4mm apex seals. I put the desposit on the motor yesterday night but a question I had is that is it more it to get the stand alone right now? or wait on it? He said he would knock 500 off the install if i did it this way.

Also I'm going to be doing the exhaust at the same time I was thinking of 3'' exhaust system. Would this choice make it a better decision to go with the stand alone and am I going to run into any problems with the rear end? Anything else I should take into consideration I'd be glad to hear

thanks again
