Vert8813B 08-29-2008, 07:25 AM So I rented a movie from Blockbuster yesterday. The dude who rung me up was new (aka didn't know what the fuck he was doing) so he forgot to remove that little yellow anti theft thing from the movie I got. I didn't realize until much later after I had already had a few beers so I wasn't about to go risk a DWI to get a fucking DVD case opened. I tried to break the case open, but it wasn't happening. What I wound up doing was cutting through the plastic of the case to get the DVD out. :bigthumb:
My question is this: Even though the DVD is fine, do you think they will try and charge me for the case and/or DVD? I plan to be an asshole with them and give them the whole "If you did your job righ..." thing, but am worried that they may TRY and fuck me over about it. Should I bring a gun just to be safe?

It sounds like you're going to jail for a LOOONGGG time buddy, Judges take their cases VERY seriously, and don't like it when you mess with them.
Srysly though, everyone has spare DVD cases, just take the paper out of the blockbuster case and slip it in a new (ten cent) case.

I ripped the paper thing and I don't have a case.
oakback 08-29-2008, 08:51 AM Just drop it in the overnight slot, and sign up for Netflix.

They have my Credit Card number on file.
oakback 08-29-2008, 10:41 AM Then go buy the $.10 DVD case, tape the paper back together, and then drop it off.
Vert8813B 08-29-2008, 11:58 AM wut?

You're making this harder than it is.
Vert8813B 08-29-2008, 12:30 PM Why am I going to spend money on their fucking stupidity?

If you don't think you're at fault for destroying the thing, and you're positive all the blame is on the dumbass clerk, then just return it and tell them that.
Tofuball 08-29-2008, 02:00 PM Dude!

Tell them the truth. Try not to sound like a dipshit, make it funny. The manager will let it slide.
Simple. Effective. Trust me.
Vert8813B 08-29-2008, 08:40 PM Should I be like "I demand a free rental!" simply as a tactic to talk down from to have them eventually not care about the case?
beefhole 08-29-2008, 10:29 PM That's like the bitch at sears (yes I bought clothing at sears, it's on sale and I can wear it to work so fuck off) who didn't remove the magnetic tag thingy from my shirt collar. I nearly wrecked the shirt tearing this thing off. In fact I did put a slight rip in the shirt, but it's not noticeable at all.
Vert8813B 08-30-2008, 11:10 AM I returned it without a problem.
1revnrex 08-30-2008, 01:41 PM You see? You're the muthafucking pimp. Say what!?
Vert8813B 08-30-2008, 03:07 PM The guy behind the counter was big and black though. I stood my honky ground.
