$100T2 11-26-2008, 10:22 PM My new laptop runs on Vista, and it is such a fucking bastard to use. If I could figure out how to get XP on it, I would.... Vista is a piece of fucking shit. 1revnrex 11-26-2008, 10:26 PM Uninstall Vista, Install XP. BOOM headshot. czarofzar 11-26-2008, 10:28 PM before i die, im going apple Fendamonky 11-26-2008, 10:33 PM That stinks, which version do you have??? Mine is backward compatible and (I'm pretty sure) I could easily just revert to XP if I needed/wanted too.... But I'm not a computer guru, I've got friends that do that shit for me =P jshiz 11-26-2008, 10:37 PM i do too Animal 11-26-2008, 10:45 PM I went Apple a looooooooooong time ago.... before it was the "cool" thing to do. There's a Powerbook 140 (16MHz '030 with 4MB RAM and an 80MB HD) in my closet that still works. And yeah, format the HD and install something else. Can't just install xp over it. Even dual boot is a bitch from what I hear. Windows just doesn't play nice with other OS's on the HD. wotnartd 11-27-2008, 06:10 AM I've had absolutely NO issues with Vista. NONE. Vert8813B 11-27-2008, 08:19 AM The only issues I had with Vista were my ATI Radeon 9250 wasn't compatible with Aero and my Logitech Optical Mouse wasn't compatible. Aside from that, no issues. RyanFlemington 11-27-2008, 12:03 PM Out of the box, it's a peice of shit, I agree. Once you fiddle with it, and turn things off(like that fucking UAC), it really isn't so bad. Tofuball 11-28-2008, 12:47 AM Vista runs slower :/ Zero 11-28-2008, 12:10 PM You know you have a problem with your product, when a mouse (see verts above) isn't compatible. czarofzar 11-28-2008, 12:11 PM yours apple, zero? Zero 11-28-2008, 12:14 PM XP Pro until something better comes along. What I'd like to see is XP Pro with better registry management tool-such as cleaning of the registry better after the uninstallation of programs, and less exploits for spyware to be installed. Better memory management would be a plus also. In all honesty, if I were setting up a computer for an old person or something that just wanted to browse the internet, use office apps, and not do anything with third-party programs or anything, I'd set them up with ubuntu & openoffice. Something to consider for your childrens bedroom computer or whatever that isn't going to get much use beyond that stated. Terrh 11-29-2008, 01:04 PM starcraft is such a pain in the ass to get working with 64 bit vista but I got it figured out, and works now - so my concerns with vista are now gone. |
