i dont know that it was entirely a joke. it pisses me off to know that if i ever had to leave my home and buisiness(fictional at this point) for weather occurances or something like that, the people who were stupid enough to stay behind and try to "stick it out" get to do whatever the hell they want with my posessions is sickening. I actually heard someone comment on my EXACT sentiments (or sediments as the case may be) regarding re-populating New Orleans.

That region is supposed to be a big fucking natural filter for the entire Mississippi drainage area. That's a HUGE fucking chunk of North America.

Development in that region has caused massive run-off issues that serves to hasten the poisoning the Gulf area, not to mention assists in increasing average water temperatures.

No fucking wonder why the Gulf is HOT and dying.

I say DO NOT rebuild anything that is more than 75% damaged and don't rebuild anything within X distance from the shores. No additional development either. It stops here. Let the land gradually (or immediately) go back to serve is original function.

It's just makes no sense to keep rebuilding in a fucking soup bowl that does nothing but slowly poison the very region that feeds you..

That is what i was talking about. i have lived in this region my entire life. the people who f it up are the ones who cry the hardest. for instance, wakulla springs is a national treasure. 60-80 foot deep spring that is crystal clear and had 100 year old catfish weighing over 200 lbs. they look like sharks down there. the area serves as a swiming area, has been on film, and is pristine in many ways. The proposal is to put in a sub urban community and a wal mart within a few miles to better the county. Wakulla fucking county is podunk trailer ville with no value except the awesome natural resources. they will destroy it im sure in the next 10-15 years and it saddens me. The area is perfect. also there is a dump that is beyond capacity(appalachee parkway past capital circl for the google earth crown) what is just south of it accross the street? a fucking community of neighborhoods and holmes!! i dont undertand people.
