It's funny cuz most of the time these stupid "all appearance and totally stock" cars are mostly useless to even race. Even with my engine still stock other than the Ractive filter which sounds like a 747 taking off, I at least know how to drive. Most people on the street dont even raise their RPMs to get a better go. From those that i have toasted, i hope they didnt take getting whipped by a Cav sedan too seriously :firedevil

if they didn't "raise their rpm's" that means they didn't downshift...which means they probably aren't racing. did that cross your mind? if i got beat by a cavalier, i'd just give up

well it's kinda hard to miss it when they ask you if you want to race, i guess they thought they could beat me. oh well.

i got my front for $200 from a guy in ATL who was selling it on J-body.org. and another $200 went to paint, since it's a pearlish orange-red color ( and of course the clear and other stuff). but i have to repaint it cuz i scratched it all up becasue its so low and rocks hit it. :crying:

I lost two races the other night. One was to a 1995 Civic, with a GSR swap, i/h/e, was damn quick. The other loss was to a BMW Z8, but that was an honor.

I can't help loss of funds due to college. And working at Michelin isn't helping much either. I admit though, it is stock only because i dont have the valve train for my 2.3l head thats collecting dust in my garage. when i get that on my 2.4, ill be sittin pretty at ~200hp. but i also need the custom cams to fit it (expensive to make and hard to find). They're only in '95 2.3L cars and are few and far between. (FYI the Quad 4 (2.3L) was ~180hp but had flaws in its engineering of the block, which i'm trying to sell my 2.3 block).

As for skills, most are just from practice on 85 and red lights in all weather. I've mostly worked on getting my off-the-line speed near perfect for my car. Even being automatic (which i can shift), it does rather nicely. i've toasted a few v6 mustangs, a ford V8 400 (thats what they said it was, dont remem the car), a honda hatchback (bad paintjob) down 385 from 45mph -110 (i lost him at about 95 and my stupid engine cuts at 110-115). Thats the only one that i can remem, and i also remem a ford 5.0 at a redlight, trying to jockey for a open lane. and i have no clue about that car because he just looked at me like he was going to get in my lane in front of me.

Well then verify this for me. it was a later 90's model with stock three spoke rims, it was a V6. And yes hes was beside my rear tire the whole time.

my stocker has 191rwhp, weighs 3360lbs and it still runs high 8s on bald tires. they dont get much slower unless youre a really bad driver.

"ricing" also would be me adding import parts to my cav that don't even belong (like S15 Silvia headlights on a 2-dr cav, i saw it in a magazine once). i dont even eat rice (u know, Uncle Ben's or those lil rice bowl thingies). And frankly, I rarely have time to do anything other than school, work, eat, sleep, and my g/f.

what do you mean an extra 40hp? my car is stock with 150hp. When money comes my way, i might have an extra 50 or 60 hp from the head work i plan on doing to it (actually a 2.3 head w/ work done to it) if not more.

rice is all show, no go...which not to be rude, but that's the way your car seems. you said you had 180 @ the crank stock in an earlier post...and you might gain 10 wheel hp on the extreme side.

They call it the "Attack", it is a kit car. based off a honda accord, like instrument panels and stuff. the chassis is not an accord, as you could see if u look at the screenshots.

And if i ever did decide to own a cav, i would put a quaife 6-spd in it, which bolt up to a saab F25 5-spd, which in turn bolts right up to my 2.4l engine in my car (which is 150hp not 180hp). 180hp is how much horsepower an engine in my garage has that is in pieces, which is a 2.3L.

try finding a side kit for a four door. bsides i dont think the side kit would look good on the 4-door anyway. and the rear bumper kit would look awesome if i had dual exhaust but i dont so i just have the front (which was all the guy had when i bought it from him). $400 was a lot for bumper and paint, $200 for each.

That kit uses the 1990-93 Honda Accord engine. I used to have a 93 Accord.

i can't wait for the new 2.4l gm is coming out with next year. It's supposedly variable valve timing at ~170hp. not much gain from my 2.4, but it should have some decent potential. Maybe stroke it to 2.6l, big turbo and a TEC 3 EMU. :drooling:

my main point is that the Attack is RWD while the accord is FWD.... not to mention the full body frame, coilover suspension, etc etc

ok so supposibly the accord DID have 400HP, it maaaay beat the Attack in the 1/4th, but that'd be about all it would win. Hey you were the one that called the Attack rice, so therefore i'm comparing it to your car for fairness :)

OK, for those who haven't figured it out yet, you can put any engine you want in it. It doesn't have to have the accord engine. K1 Styling also sells the car turnkey with a 4 or 6 cyl ford motor. The only reason the accord is needed is for steering, gauges, and other misc. parts. they originally put a FWD motor (the accord motor) in the back of the car. for this car it's not a problem to do that, unlike the Pontiac Fiero( the transmission was in front of the engine, so had to customize the trans for it to work).

if i remember correctly, someone in the attack forums was working on a cady northstar v8 for the Attack.
