Dan 06-26-2008, 05:19 AM Good morning guys and girls Im Dan (for those that havent noticed my user name already) Im 21 from the UK and i been an alcholic for ....... opps wrong website! But yeah im Dan, Easy going, and enjoy a nice chit chat Do feel free to ask away Squirrel 06-26-2008, 05:43 AM :peace: czarofzar 06-26-2008, 06:13 AM hi dan and good morning to ya. See you around. Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 07:18 AM Cocaine is one hell of a drug. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 07:33 AM Hehe, welcome to the site Dan. Where abouts on the island are ya? You will make the number three member on here who lives in England ^_^ DarkAngelKamui 06-26-2008, 07:38 AM How the hell are all these people across the pond finding this place? Regardless, welcome Dan. You might enjoy your stay. Zero 06-26-2008, 08:35 AM How the hell are all these people across the pond finding this place? Yeah... seems like the last new 5 people or so have been canadian, uk, or australia. Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 08:39 AM Oh shit I know. Remember that guy who would do anything to make people happy? And he was from the U.K. and he wound up like wearing a T-Shirt with the TFL URL on it or something. I think that may have had something to do with it. Edit: He did some crazy shit to promote TFL per Chris' request. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 09:51 AM Yeah... seems like the last new 5 people or so have been canadian, uk, or australia. NEWS FLASH!!! Canada has Migrated, it is now located slightly North of Scandinavia, just south of the North Pole. Russia has increased activity of it's North Fleet as a direct result of this recent exodus.... How the hell are all these people across the pond finding this place? Hey man, I was born in Fredericksburg and raised in Charlottesville (VA, not NC you silly fucks!). I got bored of playing in teh Lounge on the 7 club and moved over... Zero 06-26-2008, 09:56 AM NEWS FLASH!!! Canada has Migrated, it is now located slightly North of Scandinavia, just south of the North Pole. Russia has increased activity of it's North Fleet as a direct result of this recent exodus.... Hey man, I was born in Fredericksburg and raised in Charlottesville (VA, not NC you silly fucks!). I got bored of playing in teh Lounge on the 7 club and moved over... I know where Canada is, almost a good attempt at being a smartass chief. I was simply agreeing with the concept of foreigners, not just from "across the pond", which is why I elaborated and specifically said "canadians." Fredericksburg is a dump, Charlottesville is nice though. I've been there many times, my dad was in UVA quite a few times. I've spent a lot of time in Lynchburg... seems like a lot charlottesville people come down that way, an hour drive, and less congestion than NOVA. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 10:00 AM Yeah, the only cool thing about Fredericksburg is Carl's Ice Cream... I haven't spent more than 4-5 hours at a time there since I was like 3. C'ville is pretty damn cool, and getting bigger. NOVA sucks a midgets massive cock, I fucking hate that area. Strangely enough I find myself repeatedly sucked back to Hampton Roads (Norfolk specifically) whenever I come back from England. Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 10:13 AM You can't call Fenda Chief unless he is actually some Chief Petty Officer Rank. I think he went STA-21 though IMHO. Zero 06-26-2008, 10:22 AM i Can Call Anyone Chief, I'm In The Fuckin Zone Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 10:24 AM You can't call Fenda Chief unless he is actually some Chief Petty Officer Rank. I think he went STA-21 though IMHO. Eh? The only way I'll wear "khaki" is if I cross to the Army and become a Warrant Officer (which may very well happen, depending on if I get into the Navy SpecWar world or not..). I have NO INTENTION of becoming a chief or officer in the Navy. Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 10:51 AM Eh? I got bored of playing in teh Lounge on the 7 club and moved over... Charlottesville? Really? lol Used to have fam down there. My ex/best friend is currently living there, too. DarkAngelKamui 06-26-2008, 10:59 AM Oh shit I know. Remember that guy who would do anything to make people happy? And he was from the U.K. and he wound up like wearing a T-Shirt with the TFL URL on it or something. I think that may have had something to do with it. Edit: He did some crazy shit to promote TFL per Chris' request. Actually, yeah I DO remember that. That'd be pretty awesome if that was actually the reason why. Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 11:02 AM I think it may contribute. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 12:38 PM Newb. Says the guy with no experience at all... Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 12:48 PM Charlottesville? Really? lol Used to have fam down there. My ex/best friend is currently living there, too. Yeah, it's a pretty nice area. I might move back there when/if I have kids to raise them... It's a good mix of small city and open country. I grew up on the west side (Ivy) of the city, not inside the city itself. Yeah, most of the people I was friends with when I was still living in Charlottesville are still doing the exact same shit we did in Highschool (working shit/dead end service jobs to make enough money for food and a Quarter) the type that is going nowhere, still not graduated from the CC at 24-25 years old, thinking life is all about the party on Friday/Saturday night where you get so fucked up you don't know what's going on, where you are, or who you're with... Not really my style, ya know?? I go home to visit Family, that's it, lol.... Vert8813B 06-26-2008, 12:49 PM But the guy who could outrank you within 12 weeks! Bwahahahaha! :owned: DarkAngelKamui 06-26-2008, 12:53 PM Yeah, it's a pretty nice area. I might move back there when/if I have kids to raise them... It's a good mix of small city and open country. Not really my style, ya know?? I go home to visit Family, that's it, lol.... Yeah, I never really did like that town. It seems like the place you go to settle down and die. Never been a fan of dead end towns like that... Mainly why I never visit fam in Clifton Forge or Cumberland, too. lol Zero 06-26-2008, 01:15 PM Isn't it funny how different cities have certain "feels", auras perhaps, to them? Charlottesville is a quiet, but nice place. I actually like it, it just feels clean. Def a retirement place though. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 03:08 PM Yeah, I never really did like that town. It seems like the place you go to settle down and die. Never been a fan of dead end towns like that... Mainly why I never visit fam in Clifton Forge or Cumberland, too. lol Oh, don't get me wrong.. it's not a dead-end town at all!! (you're thinking Crozet in that aspect) It's just that the crew I was friends with when I graduated highschool (swapped school every 2 years due to asinine zoning in the county) are, for the most part, dead beats... To me the city is more of an eclectic hippy/artist town, bordering on erudite at times in certain places. Then you have the college scene... I have a STRONG hatred for popped collars and shaggy hair due to those wannabe suburban gangster faggots! So yeah, to clarify... the town isn't a dead end, just the kids I used to hang out with (one didn't even bother getting his drivers license till he was 20 ffs!). DarkAngelKamui 06-26-2008, 03:11 PM lol, I didn't get you too wrong. I was just stating my personal opinion based on the last time I was there (when my aunt and uncle were still alive). That was back in the early 90s though, so I'm not too surprised if things finally picked up. The other two areas I listed are still very much so "dead end" IMO. Fendamonky 06-26-2008, 03:34 PM Ah, fair enough. Yeah...def agree on the other two areas you listed though... Would you believe that (apparently, according to my mom) Waynesborough is now starting to become big, and modern, and not as hill-billy?? (ok, maybe not that last part..) Fiona 06-27-2008, 03:32 PM Welcome, Dan,,, I think!! Ha! Ha!! Ha!!! wotnartd 06-27-2008, 05:45 PM Every time I see this thread title I start singing. "Good mornin', good mornin, can't you see the... something or other... good mornin, good mornin, to you and you..." Zero 06-27-2008, 06:43 PM I think of kanye west's "good mornin" which is a bad fuckin song, especially for him. Ark2 06-27-2008, 06:45 PM Kanye West sucks. A shitty song from him is not surprising. Fendamonky 06-28-2008, 09:47 PM But the guy who could outrank you within 12 weeks! Bwahahahaha! :owned: For some reason I find that highly unlikely. You're MAYBE a Chief?? I'll send the gay guys to your quarters when I become an Ensign if it makes any consolation. czarofzar 06-29-2008, 08:08 PM say hi to the iranians Fendamonky 06-29-2008, 09:41 PM 12 weeks of OCS; due to my bachelors degree, I would go from an E-5 (which I would be when I sign my contract due to my bachelors degree once again) Sorry killer, having a degree doesn't get you instant NCO status. Sign on bonus, sure. NCO, not really. You might recieve the pay scale of an E-5 while you're going through forks and knives school, but you will NOT be a Petty Officer. Just like if you go in as an Officer you will not be allowed into the Chiefs Mess. Those two things need to be earned, wasting mommy and daddy's money for four years doesn't constitute that.. to an O-1 upon graduation. You're MAYBE a Chief?? I'll send the gay guys to your quarters when I become an Ensign if it makes any consolation. Hah! haven't you heard me say it before? I'm not a khaki, and I have no intention of ever becoming one. Six years in and wearing Chief?? You gotta be kidding! Nah, I'm an E-5. Trust me, my angry ass would hold SOOOO much more weight on a ship than your butter bars and McDonalds ribbon. Send the boi's, I'll molest them for a few minutes than send them back your way so they can get theirs :gay2: Fendamonky 06-29-2008, 09:42 PM say hi to the iranians Been there, done that. Ark2 06-29-2008, 09:56 PM You > Matrix....barely. thanks :) Fendamonky 06-30-2008, 12:55 AM 2nd class petty officers have it easy. You say this like I wasn't aware of it already :asshole: And that's only because we've already been through the worst shit the Navy has to offer and become savvy as a result. There is a system, you learn it the hard way, then milk it. I've got more than enough pay to live comfortably, enough rank to hem 90% of the people around me up. Enough experience/deployments to look half of the guys above me square in the eye and tell them they are wrong (when they are) without being questioned. And, most importantly I don't have to fuck around with an assload of additional (bullshit) responsibilities: like wiping some Junior Sailor's ass for him, or cleaning up after the baby officers when they puke all over themselves, making a mess of everything then look around for somebody to clean up after them.. Yeah, PO2 is a good spot to be in. I'll probably put on PO1 in the next year or two (unless I cross to the army, than it would be auto SSG or WO-1), but only if I can work it so that I'm not stuck on some dead end ship as a LPO with ABSOLUTELY no impact on the world. czarofzar 06-30-2008, 07:22 AM you sound like a black shoe. not impressed. try washing aircraft in pitch darkness, using a blue lens for light, fogged up goggles, and detergent that eats the fat off your skin, every fucking day. further more, if you were never on a carrier doing night operations, then you might as well paste a label on your forehead as a pussy. of course, skydiver wasn't a pussy when he was in the navy. he did the dangerous work of cleaning toiletry as a seal.:bigthumb: Fendamonky 06-30-2008, 11:57 AM Pick your rate, pick your fate brother, lol. I'm was too smart at MEPS to be an AB.. Yeah, I'm def not a brown shoe. Amphib world ftw! Three deployments in three years, One deployment from my shore command as where I replaced a British (Army) EOD Captain and just had a Col, than a General, between me and the 4 star... Getting into better shape now to go play with the top of the food chain in the world that Skydivr lived in... I am a *big* fucking pussy though =P czarofzar 06-30-2008, 09:46 PM lol damn. you are right. i rather be called a pussy then put up what I went through. Of course they never went into any details before I raised my right hand cep that its a great career job. skydivr7673 07-02-2008, 10:07 PM Pick your rate, pick your fate brother, lol. I am a *big* fucking pussy though =P wasnt a brown shoe either, but I still remember the dirty looks and disdain that came our way when referring to such places as an aircraft carrier as "the boat".... kinda cool story, I ran into a guy a couple years back, working in one of the plants I used to go to for my work. he served on a particular submarine that I had spent a little time on, and while I didnt really know the guy I do remember him from back then. Kinda funny how I left the east coast and end up down here, to run into a guy that I first ran into on one of those sardine cans. wotnartd 07-02-2008, 10:30 PM lol damn. you are right. i rather be called a pussy then put up what I went through. Fendamonky 07-03-2008, 03:22 AM I had no idea you scraped barnacles once upon a time. Wrong part of the ship. That would be the deck apes (Deck Seamen). When people refer to "brown shoe" they mean Aviation guys, "black shoes" are basically EVERYBODY, except the Aviation community. He would have been straight up aircraft/flight deck maint. Navy terminology is kinda like Cricket... Unless you play the game you'll never *really* understand it, and even then it can be a toss up... wotnartd 07-03-2008, 09:15 AM Wrong part of the ship.
