I know where Canada is, almost a good attempt at being a smartass chief. I was simply agreeing with the concept of foreigners, not just from "across the pond", which is why I elaborated and specifically said "canadians."

Fredericksburg is a dump, Charlottesville is nice though. I've been there many times, my dad was in UVA quite a few times. I've spent a lot of time in Lynchburg... seems like a lot charlottesville people come down that way, an hour drive, and less congestion than NOVA.

Yeah, the only cool thing about Fredericksburg is Carl's Ice Cream... I haven't spent more than 4-5 hours at a time there since I was like 3.

C'ville is pretty damn cool, and getting bigger. NOVA sucks a midgets massive cock, I fucking hate that area. Strangely enough I find myself repeatedly sucked back to Hampton Roads (Norfolk specifically) whenever I come back from England.

Yeah, most of the people I was friends with when I was still living in Charlottesville are still doing the exact same shit we did in Highschool (working shit/dead end service jobs to make enough money for food and a Quarter) the type that is going nowhere, still not graduated from the CC at 24-25 years old, thinking life is all about the party on Friday/Saturday night where you get so fucked up you don't know what's going on, where you are, or who you're with...

Not really my style, ya know?? I go home to visit Family, that's it, lol....

To me the city is more of an eclectic hippy/artist town, bordering on erudite at times in certain places. Then you have the college scene... I have a STRONG hatred for popped collars and shaggy hair due to those wannabe suburban gangster faggots!

So yeah, to clarify... the town isn't a dead end, just the kids I used to hang out with (one didn't even bother getting his drivers license till he was 20 ffs!).

Sorry killer, having a degree doesn't get you instant NCO status. Sign on bonus, sure. NCO, not really. You might recieve the pay scale of an E-5 while you're going through forks and knives school, but you will NOT be a Petty Officer. Just like if you go in as an Officer you will not be allowed into the Chiefs Mess.

Those two things need to be earned, wasting mommy and daddy's money for four years doesn't constitute that..

And, most importantly I don't have to fuck around with an assload of additional (bullshit) responsibilities: like wiping some Junior Sailor's ass for him, or cleaning up after the baby officers when they puke all over themselves, making a mess of everything then look around for somebody to clean up after them..


Yeah, PO2 is a good spot to be in. I'll probably put on PO1 in the next year or two (unless I cross to the army, than it would be auto SSG or WO-1), but only if I can work it so that I'm not stuck on some dead end ship as a LPO with ABSOLUTELY no impact on the world.
