Ark2 05-31-2007, 09:22 PM Had all four teeth removed. The worst part was getting the needle for the IV (I'm terrified of needles and almost passed out). I was somewhat conscious for the whole thing and strangely, the actual surgery was almost a pleasant experience for me. Oh well, at least I get three days off of work. tr4c3 05-31-2007, 09:29 PM I need to get mine removed soon. Can't wait..... rxtasy 06-01-2007, 12:08 AM i never understood the reason for having them pulled if there's nothing wrong with them. i still have all mine but need to get one pulled cause the filling came out awhile back and it would be painfull if i chew on that side. They were starting to come up and all four were compacted which can cause your other teeth to shift. After having to endure two years of wearing braces to get my teeth fucking perfect, that's the last thing that I want. czarofzar 06-01-2007, 02:48 AM Before they put you to sleep, anyone ever get that fear of a dentist putting something in your mouth other than his fingers? And then finding yourself stickered to a photo bucket on some gay porn site? Ark2 06-01-2007, 09:38 AM I heard that one dentist got arrested a little while back for squirting his own semen with a syrenge into his patients mouths while they were under. Sick bastard. wotnartd 06-01-2007, 10:32 PM I MAY need to get mine removed, but my jaw ache may just be sinus related, too. My girlfriend had hers removed about a month ago, and they didn't hurt much at all afterwards. Her face was puffy for a few days, but nothing too major. 95whitepep 06-01-2007, 10:45 PM Before they put you to sleep, anyone ever get that fear of a dentist putting something in your mouth other than his fingers? Kind of like that Seinfeld episode where the nurse and dentist were having sex while the Jerry was under....that was funny as shit. 95whitepep 06-01-2007, 10:50 PM I MAY need to get mine removed, but my jaw ache may just be sinus related, too. About 90% of people their wisdom teeth come in crooked or impacted, so they need to come out or they will crowd the other teeth and cause all sorts of bad things. Plus they are hard to clean at times. But the really bad problem with wisdom teeth comes in your old age if you do keep them. If they ever need to come out, they will calcify to the jaw bone and its major surgery....almost like having to break the jawbone to get them out. wotnartd 06-01-2007, 11:17 PM They were starting to come up and all four were compacted which can cause your other teeth to shift. I almost had them taken out once, because my orthodontist sad i Ishould, then when it came time to do it, the oral surgeon took a peek, all while I'm being stuck with needles and gassed, and said I didn't need it at that time. I have big jaw bones and they were coming in quite well. Ark2 06-01-2007, 11:31 PM Kind of like that Seinfeld episode where the nurse and dentist were having sex while the Jerry was under....that was funny as shit. Funny you should mention that. While I was going under I couldn't stop thinking about that episode. Say No To Pistons 06-02-2007, 12:19 AM I heard that one dentist got arrested a little while back for squirting his own semen with a syrenge into his patients mouths while they were under. Sick bastard. I remember a few years back a dentist was caught touching his patients while they were out. He got set up by cops and they caught him on video touching an undercover police officer. Anyways, a few weeks ago my first set (left and right, bottom) of wisdom teeth started coming out. It was a bitch. Now a second set (same locations) is coming out. It's messing up my perfect front bottom teeth :( . Manntis 06-02-2007, 04:24 AM odd how so many people need braces, retainers, teeth pulled because they don't fit. That, and appendices. Why would intelligent design botch the design so, hmmm? Tofuball 06-02-2007, 07:03 AM Why wouldn't evolution be cleaning it up? Or is it getting worse the farther we get from the original design, thanks to our "beneficial" mutations? 95whitepep 06-02-2007, 07:16 AM Why wouldn't evolution be cleaning it up? Or is it getting worse the farther we get from the original design, thanks to our "beneficial" mutations? First people are living longer and we are taking better care of our selves. We are holding on to our teeth a lot longer then what we used to....aka they are not rotting out. So back in the day....even 50 years ago, by the time people would have gotten their wisdom teeth, they would have already lost some of their permanent molars due to cavities....so wisdom teeth would have come in at a perfect time as you were losing other teeth. czarofzar 06-02-2007, 08:05 AM Interesting how our teeth health has improved ever since McDonalds created the Cheese Burger. Steel 06-02-2007, 11:48 AM i dont have any adult bottom first molars. Just a little gfenetic hiccup where they never grew, so my baby ones are still there. Dead of course and the one on the right is starting to fall out of my skull. They've been telling me i've needed my wisdoms out since i was 16. I just give them the finger every time. Ever see a hot girl that you were instantly attracted to but then lost all interest once you noticed how fucked up her grill is? I've heard it's the same way for women. Fuse 06-02-2007, 01:29 PM just like "junk DNA", huh? another one of your darwinist speculations torpedoed get educated http://www.livescience.com/health/060530_bad_appendix.html i dont have my appedix, and im not any sicker than i was, thx for your input though, "doctor" mark strong Say No To Pistons 06-02-2007, 01:50 PM Get them out, quick! So what do they do to get them out? Does it hurt? Ark2 06-02-2007, 02:06 PM So what do they do to get them out? Does it hurt? They gave me two options, either get an IV and be in a semi concious, relaxed state during the surgery or just get lots of freezing to numb the pain. I opted for the IV (which also came with freezing as well). In order to remove my teeth they had to break them and pull them out in pieces. Apparently some of my jaw bone also had to be removed. I was aware that they were doing this at the time mainly due to the noise that the procedure caused. There really was no pain involved and as I stated earlier, the whole thing was almost pleasant. After they were finished it felt like I was drunk (double vision, poor balance, etc.) until the drugs wore off. Now my face is swollen and a little sore but all in all it wasn't that bad. The people who tend to have the worst time with it are the people who have a bad reaction to the anesthetic but the pain is definately tolerable, especially if you use the pain killers that they give you. beefhole 06-02-2007, 03:24 PM I posted in the health and fitness forum a few months ago because I had the same procedure. I got all 4 out. Mine were almost in all the way, and they never really hurt either. However, I didn't have the room in my mouth and my teeth up front, especially on the bottom were starting to come out of place. I was actually excited about going under because I've never done it before. It felt like I was out for 3 minutes, but it actually 45 minutes. I kinda heard talking, and felt a little movement but can't really recall anything. Weird feeling, but fun! :) Of course after I was in pain and bleeding all night. ComradeGiant 06-02-2007, 03:42 PM Why wouldn't evolution be cleaning it up? Or is it getting worse the farther we get from the original design, thanks to our "beneficial" mutations? Thanks to technology, evolution no longer applies to humans. Look at Stephen Hawking, he should have died 30 or 40 years ago. But thanks to modern technology he continues to live. Things that would have evolved out of the species have remained because we have taken natural culling out of the mix. ComradeGiant 06-02-2007, 04:26 PM How so? The theory of evolution states that only the fittest traits are passed along to the next generation because the lesser traits are killed off. In the case of humanity technology has permitted the superior traited individuals to help the inferior ones. Essentially we have evolved to a point that evolution no longer applies. Traits which would not be passed along in a hunter-gatherer situation, or even a less advanced agrarian setting, are now allowed to spread throughout humanity. Were the world to undergo a catastrophe that destroyed civilization as we know it, a large number of the survivors would soon die because of their inferior genes, and evolution would march on. Anyway, you forgot that energy is dynamic. you can shift energy towards anything you want. It's like robbing Peter to pay PAul. So in effect, you can add more energy to store information by depleting it (not CURRENTLY digesting) elsewhere. Ark2 06-05-2007, 08:20 PM fuck off thread jackers!! czarofzar 06-05-2007, 10:39 PM I currently have four cavities. rx-7_Z06 06-05-2007, 10:59 PM I currently have four cavities. I have four fillings! |
