Hightach Tibby 03-31-2002, 07:37 PM i thought that NOS wasn't good for rotaries. maybe in small quanities. is there any truth to that? something about the risk of running too lean and kaboom! streetported Rx7 04-01-2002, 01:12 AM luis .. i saw him saturday night the kit is hooked up .. all he ahs to do is the wireing and fill the bottle streetported Rx7 04-01-2002, 01:13 AM nos will richen the mixture 04-01-2002, 09:41 AM no, it will lean it way out. You just have to be sure to compensate for it with more fuel. Wet System would be the best bet. Stegall 04-01-2002, 10:56 AM my 240 is running a 125 shot. Cant hit it for more then a few seconds though, its leaning out. I need a new FPR to be able to use it effecticely. Uglymexican19 04-01-2002, 11:09 AM allen your 240 doesnt have squat!!!!!!! Uglymexican19 04-01-2002, 11:10 AM allen your 240 doesnt have squat!!!!!!! Z-28 For You 04-01-2002, 02:11 PM Any smart person knows to retard your damn ignition if you are gonna run any amount of nitrous, You have to compensate with more fuel but if you are too lean in your timing, thats when stuff goes kaboom, not because of the nitrous!!! You can get cheap adj. retards in all the mags if you look hard enough.. LiquidBoost 04-01-2002, 02:45 PM One of the biggest reasons that an engine "goes south" when injecting nitrous, is that the air/fuel mixture goes too lean. The fuel delivery system on anything running nitrous (this applies to blowers, turbos, strokers and most other power enhancers as well) needs to be up to the task of delivering the extra fuel into the engine needed to make power. Reducing the timing advance is the other important factor when using nitrous. I’ve heard two reasons for this (and I can’t confirm or deny either, yet), the first is to reduce the chance of knock, and the second is that the nitrous causes the mixture to burn more quickly, requiring less advance to get the most power. The general rule of thumb is to reduce advance about 1 to 1.5 degrees for every 50 HP of nitrous. In addition, any form of timing advance over stock (such as with the Hypertech Power Programmer Plus or other after-market PCM programs) should not be used whatsoever. MR2 Driver 04-01-2002, 05:53 PM ehh just get a turbo.. in the long run its cheaper i mean u buy a good kit it will run ya 800-1000 then ya fill it up over and over.. with that cash u could easily afford a turbo setup to run 6psi+ and it dosn't f### up ur engine and adds more HP.. unless of course ur me and everything in possible breaks in ur car ghswheela 04-01-2002, 08:26 PM where is the cheapest place to fill up a nitrous bottle, give me some prices please. 91lx 04-01-2002, 08:38 PM I go to Double Shot its $40 and its about 5 miles from my house. There are a couple individuals who do it for $25 but not that close and im usually in a hurry. 91lx 04-06-2002, 04:35 AM Check out this disclaimer in my nitrous setup book: I am in no way responsible for the outcome of your nitrous motor or any results of your tuning experiments. I am in no way liable for any motor or car damage, intake damage, fires, death or dismemberment if you screw up. I am not responsible for anyone's interpretation of the information and opinions I present. Besides, it's not like I am at your house being paid to set up your nitrous kit, and so I am not responsible if YOU do something stupid or forget to hook up your fuel solenoid. If any of you guys are thinking of trying to find a loophole so you can sue me for your negligence or stupidity, you're sadly mistaken. If you try to hold me responsible for your sad genetic makeup which resulted in your single digit IQ I'll do the world a favor and run you over with a city bus. |
