preludedude 02-10-2005, 03:10 PM I was rearended by a Expedition Tuesday Feb 1st.
Took car to shop today for estimate. While Im there, I am going to get some custom stuff done.
I will be fixing backside, but I will be shaving trunk lid and not replacing the emblems. I will fill in 2 holes where H emblem and 2 holes where "Prelude" emblem is. Thats all for the back.
As for the front, I will be using $ out of my pockets to pay for this. I will be fixing front bumper from wreck Dec5th of last year when I totaled the car. They will be shaving front bumper emblems too and fixing damage and repainting. I will be taking off Z3s and putting back on stock fenders, which I bought last week with a fun road trip with Cody (91lx). I will also be having the CF hood re-clearcoated because it has started to cracked very lightly near vent. Thats all.
Excited cause Ive been wanting to do this crap for a while and I would like to thank the old bastard that hit me, for he helped me in the long run.

Sean951 02-10-2005, 04:09 PM i dont even want to know how much money i wasted in my porsche, and i will probly end up selling it for 5-6.....less than i bought it for before i started modding it. i think where all guilty of this, cars arent all that great as investments.....like, at all. you have pm mark.
Cosby 02-10-2005, 04:26 PM Mine will have appreciated if I ever put the intercooler in but that is only because I did the work myself.
Maybe people will keep hitting mark and he can just quit his day job. :)
Cosby 02-10-2005, 04:29 PM BTW, ViS said they'd replace that hood but I guess it was never followed up with. 626-839-9833 speak to peter and just tell him how long you've had the hood and when it first did it. It's probably been too late now.

Thats fine. It started having air bubbles beneath the clear coat about after 6 months of having it. Cracks started to appear few months ago, but extremely small and not noticeable to anyone but me probably since I see it everyday. I will see how this clear coat job looks and Im willing to bet Ill be more than happy. I seen Lynnas hood after she had it clearcoated and was extremely impressed with how hers turned out.

rxtasy 02-10-2005, 11:10 PM so many ppl don't pay attention these days. was he talking on his cell phone? anyway, glad u weren't hurt.
preludedude 02-10-2005, 11:41 PM this guy was really not paying attention...sitting at redlight, hes behind me chilling...
green arrow for "turn left" goes on....so people on our left start moving...we still have redlight....then BOOM..i get hit....all he knows is that he seen people beside him moving so he took off....
hello dude..im right here in front of you sitting perfectly still at this redlight..
it scared SHIT out of me...its 10x worse getting rearended..you dont know its coming...sitting first and got hit, then foot slipped off clutch, stalling car, adding to the damn jerking sensation...radio flew out of dash and was hanging by wires..(guess that my own ghetto rigging that caused that)..
overall....i bout shit myself..

Cosby 02-10-2005, 11:45 PM haha, i didnt know you were both sitting still. Thats really stupid. BTW, don't hold the clutch in at stop lights, put it in neutral.
sharo227 02-10-2005, 11:47 PM that really sucks that u got hit...
preludedude 02-10-2005, 11:48 PM BTW, don't hold the clutch in at stop lights, put it in neutral.
yeah..thats what i do..but for some reason i was doing that...i think i had put it in gear thinking we was fixing to go, but then green arrow came on so i sat there...then boom......
rxtasy 02-10-2005, 11:53 PM luckly u were far enough back from the car in front of u.
ChevyMuscle 02-11-2005, 12:36 AM about the only time i see people move mistakingly when they're not supposed to is when they're talking on their cell phone... but i see it about twice a week on my way to work at the intersection of E Main and Fernwood Glendale. One morning it was the person in front of me, and the turn light came on and i had to blare my horn to get her to stop so she wouldnt run right into the traffic that was turning. and she was only about 3ft away from it, just chatting it up on the cell phone and never really paid attention...

I ran thru that light one time when it was red (not on the phone). Luckily didnt hit anyone but just caught me off guard. Must be at a crazy angle on the stop lights could have swore I saw a green arrow.
pieboy6823 02-13-2005, 10:01 PM i hit a car at that intersection in my moms car!!!
ChevyMuscle 02-14-2005, 01:04 AM yeah that intersection seems to be a bit notorious for that ... a friend of mine got hit there cause someone went when it wasn't their green light...
deep6 02-14-2005, 08:23 AM That's why it's illegal to use a phone without a headset in NY now, I don't see what difference it makes, because I've got a cigarette in one hand usually anyway, but I rather enjoy having an excuse to not pick up my phone. Don't have any business chatting it up in the car anyway, unless it's an emergency. Now if we could just take of the jaywalking issue, which is just as big a problem here as it is in NYC. It's like playin frogger everytime you get to a crosswalk, hell, even if there isn't a crosswalk it's not unusual to have a group of people jump out in front of you.
pieboy6823 02-14-2005, 09:24 PM lol
thats all
Cosby 02-14-2005, 11:33 PM people really do need lessons on crossing the street
deep6 02-15-2005, 09:33 AM I enjoy watching them dodge buses
