fcdrifter13 09-07-2008, 01:16 AM New toy hauler and new toy hauler puller. Although I must say I am unimpressed with the Fords pulling capabilities, with the rex in the back it feels just so heavy. Although this was without weight distribution. Another thing I dont like is that with the edge programmer up on extreme I can barley tell a difference in the power. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/fcdrifter13/DSC00037.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/fcdrifter13/DSC00038.jpg rtryb2200 09-07-2008, 01:26 AM Brand spakin new?!?!? Did you run into some major cash?? Steel 09-07-2008, 01:30 AM I hae to say, i like the look of the new fords, cause they look like alines. and aliens are cool. So good job. Is it a dissel? fcdrifter13 09-07-2008, 01:30 AM Ya well I couldnt have gotten a the deal like I got on a Chevy which I would have rather had. My cousin owns mountain state RV LLC, and this was his old company truck and toy hauler, He moved up to the late model class today so I got the old toy hauler the toy to go with it, and get to split the truck with my dad, so all and all not to bad. Here is a pic of the toy. Ive talked about it on here before, I ran it today at I77 racepark, we were supposed to be in a FWD 4cyl class, but they left out the FWD part. Needless to say a built 2.3 pinto is pretty quick. I did however get the times down to a low of 17.96 on a 3/8th track which is meh. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a372/fcdrifter13/DSC00039.jpg fcdrifter13 09-07-2008, 01:36 AM I hae to say, i like the look of the new fords, cause they look like alines. and aliens are cool. So good job. Is it a dissel? Yep teh big ole V8 strokin turdbo. I just cant believe that it feels this underpowered. Then again it may just be that a feel. WE cruised from charleston to ripley in about an hour going 80, it would drop to about 75 on big hills, but the thing that kills me is that he has 2 07 duramax single cabs and they just feel like they keep going and going with the amount of tourqe they have, even with a trailer(actually the same load) you mass on the go pedal and you can feel it going. In the ford its just like ya i have a bit of power but I also have heated leather seats and one trick ass touneo cover Steel 09-07-2008, 03:22 AM NO offense, but nobody beats to Cummins dissels. Too bad the rest of the truck built around them sucks. I've never been too impresed by fords powersuck. Cummins dissel + Ford everythign else = Truck to end the world. http://www.nogaroblue.com/crap/Dieselrods.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l28/Super4x4Duty/DSCN0279.jpg http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l28/Super4x4Duty/DSCN0284.jpg Guess which one is the cummins? (hint - not the small ones) My boss bought a 2008 dodge 3500 with the now, 6.9? 7.3? I dont remeber cummins with an awesome chelsey brake. Even when that truck was overloaded ( >12,000 lbs.. we had to put aribags on it so i'td pass inspection) and going up steepass offroad hills, that engien would basically idle along never breaking a sweat. In fact, I dont remeber that engine ever straining, even when the truck was overloaded AND was pulling a 25' flatbed trailer with 3 spools of cable and various amounts of heavy ass pieces of angle iron for whatever crazy ass tower project we were doing next. And because of the turbo brake, he used his actual mechanical brake maybe 10% of the time. And it got 13MPG, not too shabby! $100T2 09-07-2008, 08:15 AM My boss bought a 2008 dodge 3500 with the now, 6.9? 7.3? I dont remeber cummins with an awesome chelsey brake. A friend of mine has a Dodge with the turbo diesel and the Banks system. That thing can tow anything. If I wanted to pull my house off it's foundation, I bet that truck could do it. Unbelievable torque. toyo7 09-08-2008, 06:36 AM cummins... you mean come aparts? 1revnrex 09-08-2008, 06:39 AM No Cummins as in I would rather be Cummin than Strokin. Dodge sucks , I own a Ram. Those diesel Dodges are sick though. Supper 09-08-2008, 08:23 AM I would kill to have a 03-06 ford F-350 crew cab long bed manual w/ cummins in it. But sadly I will just settle for an 07/08 Dodge when I trade my Duramax in. toyo7 09-08-2008, 08:48 AM come-aparts is a diesel joke that cat people say... i grew up around cats so i have a place in my heart for em. as far as small diesels you are correct cummins are great but as for rigs and earth movers cum-aparts are worthless fcdrifter13 09-08-2008, 09:16 AM I dont know the old cummins big cam motors were pretty badass. 1revnrex 09-08-2008, 02:38 PM Ever heard this before? Knock Knock Knock Knock.... Squeak!! Supper 09-09-2008, 09:16 AM come-aparts is a diesel joke that cat people say... i grew up around cats so i have a place in my heart for em. as far as small diesels you are correct cummins are great but as for rigs and earth movers cum-aparts are worthless Find me a cat engine that I can put into a ford chassis with a minimum of headaches and I would be sold. And I'm not talking the 550+ chassis, I'm talking 250 with 4 wheel drive. And cat's are the best thing going when it comes to severe use. Don't know many pieces of equipment here on the refinery that don't have cat in em. |
