So during my lunch break today, I decided to drive over to Seal Rock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_Rock_(San_Francisco_County,_California)), which is 2 mins. from where I'm working. Here's what Seal Rocks looks like...usually theres seals lounging on the smaller rock. (Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics)

In the parking lot, I see this beauty:

After some small talk, he asks if I'd like a quick spin...I quickly said "FUCK YEAH!" Now, I'm not sure if it didn't have seatbelts or perhaps I just couldn't find them, but when he took off, my crappy photography skills got worse. *Notice the counterclockwise speedo*

Thrilling ride to say the least. He dropped me off, then proceeded on his way.

Just as I snapped this picture, I realized that my work Nextel must've popped off it's holster when I exited the car. I hustled to my car to try and catch him, but it was futile. Hopefully he'll find it and return it (I mentioned the supermarket I was working on) or maybe I'll get lucky and he'll be in the area tomorrow. Either way, it was worth it. :)

Just got the call...The Cobra owner found my phone and he's gonna bring it to me tomorrow. I'll be sure to ask what motor he has. ;)

Yeah!

Also note the straight shifter he's got in there. Not the reverse dog leg mustang shifter the real cobras had. Never seen that before. I like it!

"i was only doing 40 occifer....oh wiat... make that 120..."

Good to hear your getting your phone back. Was this an actual 427 car, or did it have the 302 or 289 with incorrect badging?

Most of those cars are kits - and could have any engine, not just Ford :)

I am aware people put Chevy motors in them. I asked because of the shifter. My parents sort of neighbor has one (302,sc, but carburated) has a really strange shifter setup.

I had a chance to get a ride in it, but after I returned the rear end he sold me for my mustang, he wasn't too happy with me.

He told me the previous owner paid $35k for the shell and $10k for the motor, which is a Ford. But he never called me yesterday, so I still never got my phone back. :(

That is how he makes his living . . . collecting phones.

Got my phone back. And he told me the Cobra has a Ford 408 Stroker.

That is really cool. I heard the the 427 are much more nose heavy than the small blocks because of the weight and the fact the engine has to sit further forward.
