Just what comes to mind when you think of fastest... I own that black camaro. All its good for is straight line acceleration. I bet it will do 140 in the top end though..Which would be awefully scary in an old car like that.

Ive took the hatch past 155 B4. I had Clint Davis is the car one night and had it at 130 in 4th. Its not the fastest by far. I really don't know how fast the other cars on this board are so I can't make any comparisons but my car does 60 in about 5.4, and the top speed is right at 160, maybe a hair over, with the speed limiter removed

okay well first off, i dont now of anywhere you can do 155 at, 130 sounds right and for the M3, my dad has one and i have personally driven it to 130 but that was that flat stretch of highway on 85.. Heres what I propose to do. Lets all set up to go to greer one night, in about a month and see whose cars are the fastest. If yall think this is a good idea then write back on this board and let everybody else now something.....

Stock M3s are electronically limited to 135 in the US but if you have the limiter removed they will do around 159-160 before the rev limiter in 5th spoils the party. I never plan on personally verifying this, I've never taken it above 110, but I've seen it done in other E36 M3s.

Like I said though, I have only done 130 in his, but it was on that real flat stretch of 85 where if you ran off the road and didnt flip you might be alright. Its right past the 26 exits on the bypass. There are hardly any cops out that way, because they all sit there anyways.

I do over 100 on 85 all the time but the way my luck goes the first time I ever hit 130 I would see the blue lights and probably get my license revoked until I was a senior citizen

The M3 would do faster than 160, it's not lack of power that makes it stop there, it's the gearing ratio. It hits the redline in 5th at 160 and has no where else to go, I don't know of anyone who's ever changed the ratio to get a higher top speed though because most people go for acceleration when changing it. So I really don't know how fast it would be capable of going if gearing weren't an issue.

The hatchcrap will get 155+ any day of the week. Why dont ya ask Davis how fast we got to 130. Beside BMW plant on 85 south is a prime spot if you start b4 the turn and are at 100 or more going round the turn Z28. Its a garuntee that hatchcrap can do it.

If you mean can you quote me as in have I personally verified that it tops out at 160, then no, but I've seen it done in several other E36 M3s. It will only do 160 with the electronic speed limiter removed, with the stock limiter it is limited to 135. As for how long it takes to get there, I don't know, I'll ask someone who's done it and let you know.

Well I'd say my car would be good stop light to stop light. &nbsp;1/4 mile too. &nbsp;I dunno bout highway racing. &nbsp;My car seems to hit an Aerodynamic wall at about 110. &nbsp;Just doesn't excelerate hard in 5th in the middle power range. &nbsp;Oh well, with more boost it should help.

Okay Mr. Ben Howard.... 155 mph or faster and you are pulling my chain. I've got to see this to believe it. Anyways, Speed becomes relative at more than about 80 mph. Its just not as accurate. The gear in the tranny is telling the speedo that your doing 140 when in reality your really doing more like 125. Aerodynamics play a role in it anyways, just like he said earlier up. Its relative to how aerodynamic your car really is. Look at my 69 camaro. Aobut as aero as a brick wall past 120.. not to metion it probably would take off if it hit 155. its just not meant to do that. No cars are unless you have a ferrari or something. And if you dont believe me then go for a ride in my camaro and look at the speedo gear at 120. It wont feel like 120 I assure you that....but it is scary....

I was looking more at the theoretical top speed of the Integra transmissions. &nbsp;It will be around 168.5 so if she would pull to 8400rpm it should be around that ruling out aerodynamics. Should be around 135 or close at 4th redline. &nbsp;The theoretical top speed of my car is 224mph at 6K but aerodynamics hold me back (well actually lack of HP to overcome aerodynamics).

I bet Bens car could do 150 ez. &nbsp;Its light and has a strong motor. &nbsp;And if clint has seen it do 130 in fourth then it should be able to do 155. &nbsp;I have rode in it and its got the power to do 150 at least.

Like I said though, if you have the h.p. to over come aerodynamics, then you can go any speed imaginable, as long as you have the h.p. Now does his car go past 155 or is it stuck on 155. See my point. The speedo says 120 in my car and I know for a fact that it doesnt do 120 when it is on it because of the relative fact I stated earlier. To me I dont really care but honestly if i told you my car could 180+ would you believe me. It wieghts 3050 with me in it, and has about 430 h.p. I dont think so.... New camaro SS only do 164 in sixth gear at he redline.... ask that guy with the onyx black one. Tell him to take you down 85 and let the speedo hit 170, I garuntee it wont be..

Maybe his speedo is off? &nbsp;weight to hp ratio is good for his car. &nbsp;Might be higher than yours or close to it. &nbsp;Anyway this thread is lame. &nbsp;Go to the track, post slips, and see who has the fastest car.

I can confirm Ben's 130+ mph run, it was quite intense especially with the VTEC at WOT. &nbsp;As for top speed, i can safely say that the 7 has been to 170 on the speedometer... the wheels are bigger than stock, so maybe it was faster, but i guarantee the needle was at 170. &nbsp;It's amazing what actions you take when u get dumped, and it's 2am in the morning on I-77.
