BATMAN 04-10-2007, 10:08 AM This gal I'm seeing is starting to get serious.
She wants me to donate blood and I fucking hate needles so much that they are like Kryptonite.
Here's the weird part.
Needles that inject vaccines, for example don't bother me too much. It's in the muscle.
But needles that draw blood is the issue.
I haven't fainted yet, but have been close.
I've warned her that of this.
Anyone have a similar issue and if so, advice for BATMAN?
Say No To Pistons 04-10-2007, 10:16 AM You're a big pussy and post pics of said gal.
Tofuball 04-10-2007, 10:23 AM I have the same problem
Well, until I realized what was causing it
My blood pressure drops like crazy right before it happens
So I do forms right before, get myself really worked up and the adrenaline pumping, and by the time they're ready to take my blood I'm like "BRING IT ONNNN"
Also, having the doctor freaked out makes me so much more relaxed at getting blood drawn.
Give it a . . shot.
BATMAN 04-10-2007, 10:24 AM there is a pic in my gallery.
See if u can find it u Easter Bunny.
Looks like another HIV test with needles if I'm going to get nookie with this gal.
BATMAN 04-10-2007, 10:26 AM I'm worried about fainting in a strange position.... like setting myself up to be plowed with my face down and ass up...... and then I won't hear the end of that for years from her and friends.
BTW, she sleeps with clothes, wears no underwear and showers twice a day.....
I got the same problem but I'm terrified of needles of any kind. I have to lay down every time I get a shot. It still freaks me out but at least it stops me from fainting.
Cosby 04-10-2007, 12:49 PM damn, you're a bunch of pussies. It's good for you to be put in an uncomfortable position. It makes you grow as a person.
vel525 04-10-2007, 05:18 PM not sure i can provide any advice, needles don't bother me at all. back in college i actually did one of those clinical tests and had to stay over the weekend. well, they draw your blood 30 times over the weekend and you end up looking like a heroin addict, but they also pay you $3,000!! my buddy fainted like 6 times cause he hated needles, but the $ > fear..lol.
Stop being emo and take it like a man.
meddle 04-11-2007, 02:05 AM i always donaye blood if it is reasonably convenient for me.
DarkAngelKamui 04-11-2007, 08:59 AM And here I thought you liked pricks of all kinds. :D
In all seriousness, suck it up dude. You're supposed to be the goddamn BATMAN, not Bat-Bitch. lol, close your eyes and count to 10 or something.
BATMAN 04-11-2007, 09:15 AM i don't want to pass out and have pwnd pics all over the internet
Supper 04-11-2007, 10:16 AM I never used to have an issue.
Until I got stuck 10 times in one arm when some fucking nurse couldn't find my blood, one time of which the nurse rotated the needle in my arm, allowing me to feel her shred some muscle with the damned needle.
Fastforward a year and a half. I'm at student health having a blood test done, she sticks me, everything is going good. Blood stops flowing very good, she squeezes my arm and the room goes black. Next thing I know, I'm in a wheelchair halfway down a hallway having wicked projectile vomit because of what they had used to revive me. Since then I haven't been able to give blood.
BATMAN 04-11-2007, 11:38 AM i've had novice nurses perform intercourse with a needle on my arm, looking around for that vein...
Tofuball 04-11-2007, 11:41 AM Thats why I interrogate the nurses, and let them know they only get one shot at it. :-p
I suggest you do the same, make sure your nurse is experienced and confident.
BATMAN 04-11-2007, 11:52 AM they always BS that they do......
rx-7_Z06 04-12-2007, 02:02 AM I'm pale as fuck so finding my vein is not a problem. I dunno I used to be a little nervous about needles because I had my blood drawn 234624562345 times when I punctured my spleen and some asshole nurse sucked at drawing blood. Since then I just suck it up and deal with the needle.
wotnartd 04-12-2007, 10:49 AM My veins are always a little hard to find, but I'm not afraid of getting needled up, I just hate how they keep sticking me over and over and over. I try to avoid blood draws and such just because it gets to be so long. The pain is no big thing, and if I were afraid of needles getting tattoos would be an issue for me, I just hate the wait.
