I haven't decorated at all for going on 4 years now. Before that it was just pull a 2' tall fake tree out of a bag for a couple days, then put it away.

Went to my moms house and put up her outside lights as a suprise.

1) its f'in cold
2) waste of energy
3) no one pays attention to your stupid lights because i live in a neighborhood full of italians, russians, and asians

Decorating tomorrow since the wife bought the tree yesterday. Here's a question though. How many of you have real trees? I grew up with fake trees most of my life, so its normal for me to use them. My wife on the other hand was the opposite and has always given me a dirty look when I suggest getting a fake. She says it ruins the feeling of christmas since you don't have tree smell. I could really careless plus the fake ones are easy to clean up. Am I just fucked up for wanting a fake one or is having a real christmas tree over rated sometimes.

I agree with you totally...when I was young we had real trees because fake ones were expensive. My gf only wants real ones, but I don't see spending 30 bucks on something that is only going to be thrown out in a month!

i live in a apt. the only thing i could decorate outside is the windows and i live on the 6th floor so no one besides the other people living across from me on the 6th floor can see the retard santa i have hanging.

2 winters ago, we kept our tree up til' April.....it never dried out and stayed smelling good, so we kept it up. We even left the orniments(Old English pounder cans) on when we threw it out. Even though we lived in a bad neighborhood, I'm sure our neighbors must've thought we were scumbags.

My family always kept their lights and christmas tree up until the day that christ was resurrected then they'd take everything down. But I noticed that a lot of the catholic families did the same thing so it wasn't too weird. My wife wants to keep it until it dies out because of the smell and shes a christmas junkie so if she could she'd keep it up all every of the year. I told her we'd keep the tree but the lights had to come down after a while since I remember as a kid how ghetto some of the houses looked that always kept they're lights up and never took them down. They just looked all f'd up and retarded when you knew they were too lazy to take them off.
