What do you guys think of it? My company clearly says it is against policy, but they got a Ruby Tuesday and Red Robbins right next to where I work. Wed, I went to Red Robbin and got a Sammy Adams Spring Seasonal and a burger. My coworkers are known to be two-faced fuckfaces, but chances are I am getting laid of in July anyway (IBM's wonderful cost savings/stock boosting initiatives).

What's your general stance on drinking on YOUR designated lunch hour?

Our company states 2 within your 1 hour lunch period is fine, as long as you are not operating any machines....We deal with asian companies and along with some other cultures this is the norm

It's your hour though is what I don't get. Let me have a beer so I can put up with the other 8 hours of bullshit. I used to work a call center which was kind of fun. We would smoke weed, drink beers, and people who pissed us off, we would constantly call back and prank.

I used to drink, smoke weed and do assorted pills at work. Looking back I realize it wasn't a good idea, working on roofs and all.

I worked at a restaurant and we used to make pot pipes out of various kitchen items. A potato pipe...now that was cool.

I work at a boat shop and anything goes. Wanna shoot some smack at lunch? Go right ahead. Lay lines down on the bosses desks. Shit they will chop it up for ya. If I was still into that shit this job would be awesome but Im not. So all I do is shake my head at the fucked up drug induced decisions my higher ups make ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

My office is 268 feet off the ground, so even if I could, I'm sure I wouldn't. I certainly don't want my judgment or balance compromised after lunch. There's plenty of time to slam back a few after work!!

I don't see anything wrong with a drink during a lunch hour, especially if it's at the beginning of your meal. It's not much, but it should be all gone before the lunch hour is over.

Huh?

He's referring to the post count requirement to access this section. It's set at 20 to keep out trolls.

When I worked in an office and pushed a pencil for a living, I always went out and had a couple of brews with lunch. But, I would never do it now. Not with my current job. I think that has a lot to do with it as well.

Its already been said, but it really depends on your job. If you work at a desk I dont see anything wrong with tossing back a few for lunch. But if you work in a dangerous place then you should stay away for obvious reasons. I've had the idea to have a beer at lunch, but since I could easily hurt myself at work I dont.

Mostly? Does that exclude the mail run?

Work is work. You can always catch a beer after work. Better abide by the rules if you want to keep your job.
