Alex-7 01-30-2008, 07:03 PM I've always kinda been a fan of HBO's TV shows, but they suck these days.
They've replaced shows like The Soprano's, Deadwood and Rome with shit like "tell me you love me" and perhaps worst of all "In Therapy" What gives? Have you guys seen this shit?
Anyone know if they're gonna make anything good again?
I've been considering getting showtime.
What do you think about Flight of the Conchords?
Entourage is utter shit though
czarofzar 01-30-2008, 08:02 PM Writers all year have sucked.

Never seen it. Good?
Forgot bout this thread.
I think that it's a great show, one of my favourites. They got picked up for a second season too so we'll see how that goes.
2ndGen.Rocket 02-12-2008, 11:08 AM Flight of the Conchords is hilarious.
You think Entourage is shit? Wow, that is the first person I have heard say that.

Tell me one redeeming quality that that show possesses. Bad acting, terrible storyline, cheesy guest appearances. I'll say it again, utter crap.
2ndGen.Rocket 02-12-2008, 05:53 PM I think Piven is absolutely awesome, how can you not?
And what is wrong with the storyline? It does a great job of portraying what the lives of some of these guys are like!
Alex-7 02-12-2008, 06:02 PM Jeremy Piven is pretty funny on there.

He's loud, obnoxious and simply tries too hard.

It's just one big mindless cliche after another. Drama is a total loser that no one could ever recognize, yet somehow Paulie Shore is going to make him the centre of a massive, ridiculously complex joke in his series rendition of Punked? Does that make any sense? Who cares, it's just so awesome that they smoke pot and have sex with hot girls all day.

He was a major star in a TV series that has a novelty aspect to it. It's like the guy from Quantum Leap showing up in a second rate version of Punk'd. That would be funny. It's not out of the realm of reality. It wasn't MTV's Punk'd that he was on, it was shitty version of it.
And whether or not it's awesome, it follows a group of friends through a rather extraordinary situation. It's good entertainment.
Alex-7 02-12-2008, 10:39 PM Quantum Leap was the shit!
Archie's8 02-13-2008, 02:35 PM The show is pretty good at portraying all the freeloading assholes here in Cali. Everybody wants to have a hot car, pad, and girl... but their broke afterwards. They want to all be involved in the "scene". It's not a bad show IMO. HBO is kinda shitty.
If I watch TV, Showtime's Dexter and Brotherhood are pretty awesome.
Alex-7 02-15-2008, 05:30 AM so true but showtime is mediocre too except for elite xc and weeds
What about the tudors? I've heard people say it's good and I've thought about getting showtime for it............
Alex-7 02-15-2008, 05:37 AM I'm pretty exited about the HBO mini series "John Adams" that is suposed to come out next month.
Anyone who read David McCullough's "1776" or "John Adams" should be too!
That guy has got to be the best historical writer of our time. My favorite at least....

Exactly. I don't know if anyone here has spent any length of time in L.A. or not, but it is JUST like that. Everyone is fake as fuck, shallow, and trying their best to put out a certain image.
Archie's8 02-15-2008, 01:58 PM There, their, they're... posting late night is a crime.
The Tudors is actually a pretty good show. I didn't like it at first, but I sat and watched a couple episodes On Demand and got into it.
Alex-7 04-17-2008, 03:20 PM John Adams on HBO is awesome. The cast is perfectly how I imagined them to be from the McCullough books.
Anyone else been watching it?
I love it when people actually make a GOOD movie or series out of a good book. Pretty rare......
