FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 12:12 AM Within the next year, i want to get a nice car. One i can race and put in shows(omgwtfricer) and be somewhat rare enough where people go theres that guy in that "-------". The 1.8t jetta isnt cutting it, that is why its staying stock.
Guidelines.
Rwd,Fwd,Awd-prefer rwd but open to all.
Cant be too expensive, cheaper the better so stick to cars that are older.
I already considerd fb's fc's and fd's, for one reason or another ive decided against them and or cant afford the car and or the upkeep(fd).
So any idea's would be welcome. I was thinking boosted integra, but not rare and its fwd.
sir rupert hobo 08-11-2005, 12:22 AM e30 M3.
do it. your heart and penis will thank you later.
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 12:33 AM e30 M3.
do it. your heart and penis will thank you later.
If you think e30's are nice looking, you need a smack.
Manntis 08-11-2005, 12:37 AM supercharge a 1st gen miata
or get a 2nd gen Toyota MR2 (try to find a solid roof one - the T tops add weight), lighten it, and mod the snot out of it
get a classic old MG or convertible Fiat. Not much for racing, but you'll sure get "There goes that guy in the ____" :)
Datsun 240/260/280Z - RWD, torquey inline 6, nice looks, IRS, and dirt cheap.
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 12:54 AM 93 cobra .
Haha, good joke, for a second there i thought you were serious.
Downyz95SI 08-11-2005, 12:59 AM Dude get a 92-96 Prelude, Vtec or SI, they are hardly ever seen on the road, or where Im from atleast they are pretty rare, Front wheel drive but still, how many 92-96 Preludes have you seen done up...
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 01:00 AM Dude get a 92-96 Prelude, Vtec or SI, they are hardly ever seen on the road, or where Im from atleast they are pretty rare, Front wheel drive but still, how many 92-96 Preludes have you seen done up...
None, because they are ugly :wiggle:
Downyz95SI 08-11-2005, 01:08 AM not that ugly, the other generations I will admit had some issues but slap on a body kit and lower it, you'll get alot of looks for sure. Just my opinion tho.
nowboostinII 08-11-2005, 01:43 AM datsun 280z with a 2jz
Carbine 556 08-11-2005, 01:50 AM early 90's camaro, or the datsun 280
aznpoopy 08-11-2005, 02:00 AM i don't think you should get a rwd car dude.
how about giving us a budget to work with?
240sx's are 'played' so if you want people to think you're cool b/c of your car, it isn't the car for you. and i don't care wtf people say, they are NOT reliable.
rx7's are tempremental - but always a good choice, especially if you already have a DD. rotary engine rep keeps noobs and ricers away moreso then other cars.
2nd gen mr2's are hot, but hard to work on and i have a feeling you will probably kill yourself in one.
miatas are great as starter rwd cars. but you get no cool points from ricers. practically speaking, a miata is probably the best choice.
any old car (ae86, s12, 280z, 240z, 300z, aw11 etc) is hot. because its old. so its unique. but trying to put it together is probably more work then you want to do. thats why they are unique.
older supras can be nice. for some reason i see a lot of middle aged women in the 3g (?) supras with the car all fixed up and shit. weird.
z32 300zx n/a's are porkish. z32 300zx TT are still porkish but has potential. it's not 'super' rare but its not that common either. the n/a's are very reliable i hear. the only problem is that the car is supposedly a bitch to work on. but for rwd cars, i think it's your best option.
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 02:05 AM max 13k..and fuck you bitch, i can drive RWD just fine.
aznpoopy 08-11-2005, 02:08 AM thats what every noob on the 240sx forums says
then we get noob threads like:
"dont speed in the rain" - pics of a 240 flipped off a road into a ditch
"be careful out there" - pics of car slid over a curb ass first
"had an accident..." - aftermath pics of 90 degree slide right into a concrete divider
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 02:09 AM i am the most indecisive mother fucker you guys will ever meet, im sure of it. Ill probably just stick to wanting a 94 integra gsr and boost it one day down the road. I wont be rare and i wouldant win a show because they're is so many. but i like them alot.
aznpoopy 08-11-2005, 02:14 AM get a 300zx
send the engine to get rebuilt
install a greddy pre assembled turbo kit
you'll have a fast good looking car for 13k.
wonner 08-11-2005, 02:44 AM I found the perfect car for you, FTC:

86 mustang svo, boosted rwd and pretty rare.
rx-7_Z06 08-11-2005, 04:58 AM go for an MKIII supra. It can win shows, not many around, and it can go FAST with some mods.
Another suggestion would be to pick up an older Subaru 2.5 RS. You could probably find a B22 replica kit and make that subie look real nice. They also like it when you drop an STi motor and trans in there.
2ndGen.Rocket 08-11-2005, 05:16 AM Fuck an Integra. You'll drive an Integra and make fun of a Cobra or an M3? Oooooh, the inner ricer is coming out :D
Get a MKIII Supra like other's suggested. You don't see many around, they are cool cars, lot's of parts available, and the 7M-GTE motor is a fucking beast.
RX7_2ner 08-11-2005, 05:24 AM your mom likes integras.
iamdrunk 08-11-2005, 06:51 AM '97+ Honda Prelude. Better looking than the previous gen Preludes, and nowhere near as common as an Integra.

What is your budget? $5,000?
wonner 08-11-2005, 08:14 AM What is your budget? $5,000?
I think he said $13k including mods
nowboostinII 08-11-2005, 08:27 AM godamit just get an fb and turbo II swap. easy for 13k
RB240 08-11-2005, 08:29 AM 240 tend to have these lovely pictures being flipped over or even slid into a curve ass first because morons think its the ultimate drift car. Fuckin fags. Its a sport, drift anything. If I were FTC, I'd get a 94integra and do the TYPE R conversion, slap a nice clean wide body on it. Paint it 350z Sunset Orange and put some Volks on that biotch with black spoke -n- silva lip! BODDABING! wait.. I Just gave him my idea. oi-vey

RedR1 08-11-2005, 08:42 AM FC and 3 rotor. 13k into a very nice car :op:
Alex-7 08-11-2005, 09:05 AM go for an MKIII supra. It can win shows, not many around, and it can go FAST with some mods.
I have one for sale..............
MosesX605 08-11-2005, 11:51 AM Tom, I want those wheels!
$4K and their yours! I'll even throw in the rest of the car too!
$100T2 08-11-2005, 12:06 PM Here's another vote for a 240 or 260z.
$100T2 08-11-2005, 12:08 PM FC and 3 rotor. 13k into a very nice car :op:
3 rotor + FC do NOT = 13k. More like 23k.
Nice FB @$4,000 + ported 13B with Holley and Supercharger = $10,000-$12,000.
Under budget :)

Funny that you would post a pic of the ugliest Integra you can find. How many TURBO integras do you see? that arent rice.
cool3865 08-11-2005, 05:14 PM wow i could of sworn he said rare............
get a Subaru SVX :P
or if you can get a BMW 850Ci they arnt that expensive to get and they come with a V12 that produces 420BHP
FeatherTheClutch 08-11-2005, 05:15 PM Not exactly RARE, but somthing you dont see every 5 seconds..funny that i want a integra huh?
If he means the old SVX's- they are pretty rare. Some were turbo models too, IIRC.
Say No To Pistons 08-11-2005, 05:34 PM i vote for miata or the 240
JABrx7 08-11-2005, 05:34 PM i second the 850ci
cool3865 08-11-2005, 05:39 PM if you get the SVX you have to make sure its the AWD Turbo.......there are some that are only FWD and Non-Turbo.......but yea im also trying to find a BMW 850Ci
JABrx7 08-11-2005, 05:42 PM well cool if its anything like my 750il that will be a fun car to drive
Savington 08-11-2005, 07:12 PM FTC, I have your car.
NICE 94-97 Miata: $4k
Flyin Miata FMII Turbo: $5k (Turbo, IC, standalone, goodies.)
Wheels, tires, suspension: $1500
Hardtop and Roll Bar: $1500
Total: $12k
The nice thing about a properly turboed Miata is that they actually sell for more than twice what a stocker does. I ROUTINELY see nice first gen Miatas with basic turbos and few custom goodies going for $10k+. Stockers go for 3-4k.

cool3865 08-11-2005, 07:25 PM well cool if its anything like my 750il that will be a fun car to drive
what the 850Ci???
its faster and abit lighter than the 750.........
plus its better looking than the M3's
