alex_the_hipple 01-02-2007, 02:45 PM So, I just subscribed to an online music site with the intentions of stopping all the illegal downloading. Unfortunately, the music will not move onto my iPod. I think this is because it's formatted through Windows Media Player and not AAC (I think that's right). Is there a way to transfer this or do I just need to cancel my subscription and go back to theiving? sbrxguy 01-02-2007, 03:29 PM In your iTunes, go to file, and then Add Folder. Select the folder that all your music is in (you do have it all in one place right? Good boy), then click Ok, and it will import everything to iTunes and change it all to AAC. There you go! alex_the_hipple 01-02-2007, 04:00 PM I knew I forgot to mention something. The files are protected Windows Media files. iTunes won't convert them because of this. Is there a way around this or should I go back to just downloading music through a file sharing program? Cosby 01-02-2007, 04:16 PM Only way to pirate the files is to record it into a new file. Total pita. It's easy to setup and do, just tedious. alex_the_hipple 01-02-2007, 04:42 PM Only way to pirate the files is to record it into a new file. Total pita. Cosby 01-02-2007, 06:14 PM you go into your mixer settings and set it to record to the line in device then you download a program that records sounds from an input. Specify the input and record the mp3. Then convert whatever that program saves into mp3. There may be a more automated way but I kind of doubt it. I've done it with protected videos and that's even more of a pain. Animal 01-02-2007, 11:32 PM Burn 'em to an audio CD (CDRW) and encode that to MP3. You can do that with iTMS files, dunno about wma shit though. dehshaun 02-04-2007, 07:50 PM ggravy nadface 02-13-2007, 06:18 PM Only way to pirate the files is to record it into a new file.
