The thing I like better is the avatar over to one side and the text all in line down the page, and also the sigs should be smaller than the post text. It makes it easier to read through a thread quickly. I don't care for the shout box idea.....just me.

also, in the options pannel, think you could have the option to always have your sig line disabled unless starting a thread or choose to not show it with each post?

honestly, this site has damn nice parts for cars, but i think for all the new rx7 owners, we'll need more parts for the sevens. even though i'm getting rid of all mine, it would just make sense.

A shoutbox is a autorefreshing box found at the top of the page usually that you can type a random comment into and people reply to it, like a chatroom but you can browse the forum and not have to be in the chatroom all the time. The only prob I ever found with shoutboxs is that people think its a search engine (usually the n00bs) and you have to tell them THIS IS NOT A SEARCHBOX or you could always just fuck with them too :)

also, I just updated the dark template. It seems a little faster now. It was loading the CSS twice for opera support. WHo the hell uses opera anyway? I'm going to move the css to an external file so it will run off cache also.

Why not include a "Smacktalk" section of the forum that's password protected and unseen to the general public unless:

A.) Request submitted to Mod or Admin for admission

B.) Obtain a certain post count

C.) All of the above

Might help keep the idiocy that people don't want to deal with outside of the general waters as well as stay true to the "Freedom of Speech" that people are getting used to using these days.... :rolleyes:

Plays both sides of the field... Brings in new folk that like the BSing, and brings in people that just like to start shit....

Look how the main section of the forum's been the last couple of weeks....

If you don't feel all that comfortable with just a password screen, i'd suggest adding in a disclaimer page that lays out the section guidelines and requirements for view and participation that one would have to agree to before entering...

To re-cap the process I had in mind:

1.) Member who wishes to join must gain approval of Mod or Admin via PM

2.) Mod/Admin gives link to disclaimer page which lays out rules and guidelines

3.) Member must agree to all written material before gaining password

Just extra protection against otherwise unwanted company....
