Or only 40 hours a week. Just curious, I used to work m-f 10 hour days then half days on Saturday before I started on my weird schedule. I've never worked 8-5 only monday through Friday.

But I wouldn't have to sleep my days away....still I think I am going to try it for a few weeks to see if I will like it....I have 240 hours of vacation time so it should get me through until the middle of August, just working weekends and weekdays at the other place

The lack of large chunks of time off sucks about the M-F deal. However, the time you DO have off is much more useful since EVERYBODY has those same days off, and you aren't exhausted from the work week so you can take advantage of those off days better.

Working 12+ hour shifts to get your 40-50 hours in the first couple days of the week is great if you're a road tripper... but if you're sticking around the same town it's kinda a waste imo.

I'm currently working 4 days on, 4 days off (rotating with my "days" on being AM->PM and PM->AM) doing 12-14 hour shifts.

Previously I'd done the Mon-Fri (with an occasional duty day on the weekend) thing for three and a half years on my ship, when she was in port..

I used to have a 9 to 4 job, except during deployments. 16 hour plus days (every other day) there so the boss was easy on us when we were home.

Now I work around 2 PM to 8 most days. Since I work for myself, I am way too lax a boss.

i gotta get shit done early. i work 130pm to 10pm m-f, thus all my late night posts. get up early if i need stuff done.

I work M-F 8-5 and the thing that totally sucks about it is whenever I have to go to the doctors or dentists and they are only open from 8-5 themselves, I need to take a day off. A lot of other businesses close at 5 so that really sucks ass. Sleeping is fine though.

I go in early so I can get out early so I still have the day ahead of me. It really depends on the kind of person you are and what kind of hobbies you have, and when your friends are off work :) Also, the 4 day work week saves 20% on commuting time and expense :P

I work 7:30 to 5:30 Mon thru Thursday. Kind of nice to have a 3 day weekend all the time.

I get the Four 10s (I think... Four 10 hour days) but the 9/80 bit has me thrown..

A 9/80 is where you work 9 nine hour days and have every other Friday off. Lots of offices will do this and half are taking off this Friday and the other half next Friday.

Everyone gets a three day weekend every other week and the office stays open full time.

Four 10s are where the office is closed every Friday.

40 Hr/ 9am to 6pm

I work 40 hours a week, 7am to 3:30pm.

Similar hours to me and time.

My schedule pretty soon is going to be 2 days of 12 hour shifts one week (24 hours 5 full days off, broken up 2+3), followed by a week of 5 days worth of 12 hour shifts followed by 2 days off. So you're going to see me super happy/drunk one week and super angry/sad the next week.

Yup,,, Four 10's, 7:00-5:30, with Fridays off until this fall, then it's back to six 10's. Damn good money, but I sure get tired as hell!!!

I do for now. Pretty soon it will be more like 8:00 to 8:00, Monday through Saturday.

In a week I'll be in my compnay full time till I transfer. That would be 9AM-5:30PM Monday through Friday.

Can't wait to quit this job.

I do the 40-hour-week thing... hours are flexible which is real nice. As long as I get shit done they don't care when i do it.
