TVS50LX 05-05-2003, 11:06 AM I have a problem. Under WOT at around 4000rpm's my car falls on its face. I have changed the TFI module on the distributor, and the mass air meter and no help. I think it might be something inside of the distributor or the TPS sensor. Any other ideas? 91lx 05-05-2003, 01:08 PM My '96 used to misfire sometimes and I couldnt figure out why. It turned out to be the underdrive pulley on the crank throwing off the timing. Cosby 05-05-2003, 04:56 PM RX7s are BAD about doing that with a bad or misadjusted TPS. 91lx 05-24-2003, 02:44 PM timing? TVS50LX 05-25-2003, 05:33 PM The timing is set at 15 deg. When the car is first started, it will idle perfect, then after the car warms up it will start misfiring and surging very bad. I also replaced the distributor yesterday. Katana200sx 05-26-2003, 08:01 PM also after everything he has done and replaced to try and fix the car, it runs perfect and leads you to believe it fixed then ****s up again TVS50LX 06-06-2003, 10:35 AM I have narrowed it down to o2 sensors. Should have some by the middle of next week. Cosby 06-06-2003, 12:33 PM its probably not the o2 sensor. Thats only used for closed loop operation. Everything but cruising at a consistent throttle position is open loop. Surging is usually the ECU being confused about engine speed and position, throttle position or its just running really lean. Lean condition would be caused by a vacuum leak on a N/A car. If you dont have an AF gauge I suggest you buy one (preferably from me :) I have one in stock). Good luck. TVS50LX 06-06-2003, 12:48 PM I had a vacuum leak on the intake, but I replaced the intake gasket on Monday. Now it idles fine, but when driving it hesitates, except on WOT. I talked to a guy that had the same problems, replaced his o2 sensors and the problem went away. TVS50LX 06-08-2003, 02:11 PM While we are on the subject, how much and what size is it, and who is it made by? Cosby 06-08-2003, 02:23 PM the one I have right now is made by westach. Theyve made FAA certified gauge for a looong time. They hold the patent for the first electric tachometer. its a white face. The neat thing about this one is that its an analog one instead of the kind with the flashy, annoying lights. Im pretty sure it cost me around $60... I intended just to use it on my car but my car came with one that matched my autometer cluster. Its brand new in the box. 91lx 06-09-2003, 02:48 PM just swap it to a carb and give me your efi stuff :) TVS50LX 06-10-2003, 10:54 AM I dont think so. :D You must have been doing a lottle of this.:40oz: :D Hightach Tibby 06-13-2003, 11:16 AM dude..you just said he must have been drinking...and you misspelled lot by saying lottle?! Katana200sx 06-13-2003, 11:54 AM he meant little... 91lx 06-13-2003, 12:07 PM what katana said :boxing: |
