$100T2 11-17-2005, 02:57 PM These are from my high tibial osteotomy. My doc cut my tibia in half, took a piece of bone from my hip (iliac crest, to be precise), wedged it into the gap, then bolted it all together with the metal plate you see in the pics.
Good stuff!

These are just cleaning up some of the crap inside my knee, and testing my prior surgical repairs.

This was the second of my three surgeries, it was performed at Yale Medical Center, and cost the Navy over $100k (I saw the bills.)

HOLY SHIT!! thats a lot of money, you must of been some glad you didnt have to pay for that!!
what exactly happend to need the surgey anyways?
$100T2 11-17-2005, 03:08 PM I never got the pics from my third surgery, which was far more interesting than this one. I can't find any decent pics of it online, but it's one of the rarest knee surgeries done.

I blew out the following playing basketball:
Lateral Collateral Ligament
Posterior Cruciate Ligament
Medical Collateral LIgament
Posterior Lateral Corner Complex
The last one, PLC Complex, is the rarest knee injury around. The fact that I did all of them at once is what fucked my shit up so bad. I still need to have another surgery, because my PCL surgery, which was done by the Navy, wasn't done correctly, so Yale is going to re-do it and tighten up some other stuff.
Geoffrx7 11-17-2005, 03:14 PM holy moly
that must of hurt like a bitch.
how did you do that playing baseball?
$100T2 11-17-2005, 03:24 PM I fell straight on my knee with my leg bent at a 90.
rx-7_Z06 11-17-2005, 04:23 PM Those types of pictures just make my insides feel all weird.
Say No To Pistons 11-17-2005, 05:02 PM can you jump like a NBA player now?
ComradeGiant 11-17-2005, 05:10 PM Shit, and I thought my torn miniscus sucked ass...
$100T2 11-17-2005, 05:15 PM can you jump like a NBA player now?
I used to have a 40" vertical... Right now, I'm at about 30"-31"... I can still dunk, but it's not what it used to be. I just started playing again and doing all my old weights, etc, so maybe when I get the strength back in that leg to where it was, I'll be back in the mid 30's.
shwambo 11-17-2005, 05:46 PM 40 damn highest I can remember hearing is Champ Bailey's (UGA/Redskins Corner) 48"

Billy Blanks brother Michael had a 63". No shit, 63". Infuckingsane. You ever see the Vince Carter dunk on the 7' French guy?
http://www.coquitlamalliancechurch.ca/_imagesyouth/vince%20carter%20olympic%20dunk.jpg
Michael did the same thing, but over 8 people huddled together. He also used to do a dunk where his body was parallel to the ground, and he would put the ball through the rim with a straight arm down. Infuckingsane.

Not their medical centers. Yale is one of the best. And, it definitely beat having the Navy surgeons try it. The "best Navy knee surgeon around" did my first surgery, which my Yale doc looked at and said, "Wow, he sure did a job on that."
