Squirrel 06-10-2008, 04:05 AM no... not our batman... but whatever...
the wife and i went to go get some ice cream tonight. while driving through town (i rarely drive through town when i work) we pass a park... completely flooded, at lease 1.5' of standing water... we come to the bridge over the Milwaukee river and the fair grounds... now the Milwaukee river is usually 20' (or so) from the bottom of the bridge... after all this rain... it was no more than 3' from the bottom of the bridge!!! and the fair grounds were totally under water...
i wouldve snapped some pictures, but it was already dark out... b4 work tomorrow ill head out and snap some...
all this rain is getting out of hand... and as i write this now... its pouring out... when will it end...
Misty Rayne 06-10-2008, 04:08 AM i've been watching the news about this it's insane

scary aint it, we seem to have the same problem over here lately, it pours with rain and everything floods... sunny at the minute though
rtryb2200 06-10-2008, 05:56 AM Did you see that the dam at Lake Delton broke....if you go to JSOnline.com they have a bunch of flood pictures. Pretty crazy stuff
Misty Rayne 06-10-2008, 06:07 AM i saw it on the news..............thats the man made lake isn't it (we get way more of your news than our own eg tornado hits perth gets 2 mins of footage, floods in the usa 10 min worth of footage)
rtryb2200 06-10-2008, 09:26 AM It's funny but the flooding is less then 2 hours from me, however the local news spends very little time covering it. I see more from the weather channel or any of the network news stations
wotnartd 06-10-2008, 09:49 AM I don't even know where the flooding is. All I know is these storms are just skirting south of me.

Cosby 06-10-2008, 11:15 AM It hardly ever rains in SC anymore. All of our lakes are down 10-17 feet. I wish we were already on our way to cali because all that rain would have been fuuuuun for kayaking.
Vert8813B 06-10-2008, 11:26 AM That's the drought before a rough Hurricane Season Chris.
BATMAN 06-10-2008, 11:58 AM California is experiencing drought.
Vert8813B 06-10-2008, 12:05 PM I think it only applies to the Atlantic as the water in the Atlantic is warmer and creates what many could classify as 'Rain Forests' due to it (like Florida), but the Pacific around California is cold water which creates 'Deserts.' You're really testing my geology off hand though.

Um... correct me if I'm wrong.. but isn't Geology strictly the study of the earth, and her components (aka, rocks)? Not weather patterns and such...?

You should be ok as long as you weren't going to go to the Tommy Bartlett show or staying at a resort on Lake Delton, the rest of the dells are fine, at least I have not heard anything about it
wotnartd 06-10-2008, 04:44 PM Yeah, Devil's Lake is now Devil's Lakebed.
