Intent on catching the culprit, they set up a video camera to record the vehicle.
However, they were surprised at what they caught on film.
The video captured the dog as she opened the car door on her own and climbed inside.
The family had circulated posters of the dog and had contacted the Clallam County Humane Society for assistance.
However, according to a report in the Peninsula Daily News, the family has now adopted the canine.

A year ago I would have said that was extremely odd and I would have told everyone to "come see this"...
But since we've had our Weimaraner I can honestly say, I see that every day.
Well, not into the car...But he can open all of the doors in our house now, as long as its not locked.
The sliding glass door in the back is the easiest for him. But we occasionally come home to see all of the doors in the house open and trash all over the place.
Why? He bites the door knob and twists his head. If you come to our house you'll notice almost all of our door knobs had large dents/bite marks in them.

we thought someone broke into our house once... it was thundering and one of our dogs opened the door and went in and shut herself in the closet... it was really weird
