If you didn't know- normally copprheads and rattlesnakes (and other snakes) den up by the hundreds or thousands in the fall. October is normal around here. (We have a HUGE timber rattler population on a mountain about 15 miles from me).
These copperheads are converging several months BEFORE mother nature usually tells them to. First time ever witnessed..
Weird.

Eastern MO is infested with copperheads. In winter, they'd hibernate under a gap in the concrete of our pool deck when I was growing up.
