wingsfan 01-16-2007, 08:16 AM Who else is stuck at home in a "not prepared for real winter" city/state? MazdaTed 01-16-2007, 08:19 AM Me, but Im nowhere near being iced in since its like 65 degrees outside. I love georgia, free educations and warm winters. wingsfan 01-16-2007, 08:25 AM Me, but Im nowhere near being iced in since its like 65 degrees outside. I love georgia, free educations and warm winters. Normally we're right there with you on the warm winter part. But it sleeted all last night, and it's not supposed to get above freezing for the next two days, so the roads are crap. mazdaspeedrex 01-16-2007, 08:43 AM It was 9 below this morning when I left for work. The roads are clear but still snow and ice in parking lots. We got only 3-4 inches over the weekend, so it's not that bad. wingsfan 01-16-2007, 09:00 AM I hope we don't get that crap Yup. You guys (Research Triangle area anyways) have been hit with some doozies over the years. wingsfan 01-16-2007, 09:01 AM It was 9 below this morning when I left for work. Yeah, but you guys probably have plows and sanding/salting trucks to help clear the roads. We've got nothing. Tofuball 01-16-2007, 10:07 AM Stuck? What? I drive a moped to work :P wingsfan 01-16-2007, 10:10 AM Stuck? What? I drive a moped to work :P A 22 mile commute on a moped dodging 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickups the whole way doesn't sound like fun to me. :) Tofuball 01-16-2007, 10:13 AM Thats why I avoid roads :) My current commute is 2.4 miles. But I got a Chevy K3500 if it gets bad enough :P Hades12 01-16-2007, 10:45 AM What is wrong with being snowed in. Sled a bit, make a run a pinto beans and enjoy the days off. wingsfan 01-16-2007, 10:47 AM What is wrong with being snowed in. No snow. Just ice. :( cool3865 01-16-2007, 01:19 PM yea i didnt stock up on food so now im hungry, might brave the roads and drive to my dads house wingsfan 01-16-2007, 01:25 PM yea i didnt stock up on food so now im hungry, might brave the roads and drive to my dads house Good luck if you venture out. There's a lot of accidents on the news. Tomorrow isn't supposed to be any better. :( $100T2 01-16-2007, 01:33 PM We haven't had any snow yet this winter, which is bizarre. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 18 though, so it's gonna get cold. Manntis 01-16-2007, 01:43 PM Yay! It's warming up from -50 here! Say No To Pistons 01-16-2007, 01:44 PM We've been hitting record highs everyday. It should be way below freezing now but it was in the 50s yesterday and we broke the record high of 72 last sunday. Global warming FTW! Hades12 01-16-2007, 02:27 PM No snow. Just ice. :( You can sled on ice, We end up doing it all the time. J_R 01-16-2007, 08:22 PM How do you get iced in? Been a beutiful 25 F I just hope it last till the weekend. wingsfan 01-16-2007, 08:24 PM How do you get iced in? Our normal high this time of year is in the low 40s. There's no equipment to deal with ice/snow whatsoever. That means every overpass (and there are tons of them) is completely covered with ~.25" layer of ice. aznpoopy 01-16-2007, 08:27 PM weather is real weird this year. usually by this time we northeasterners would've had a few snow storms. so far, we've had a 2 minute flurry and nothing else... $100T2 01-16-2007, 08:54 PM Yay! It's warming up from -50 here! Holy shit. I can't even imagine being that cold. Do you even go outside when it's like that??? Zero 01-16-2007, 08:55 PM Wow habanero sauce really burns your asshole. J_R 01-16-2007, 09:22 PM Our normal high this time of year is in the low 40s. There's no equipment to deal with ice/snow whatsoever. That means every overpass (and there are tons of them) is completely covered with ~.25" layer of ice. Drive carefully then. -50 isn't all that bad, unless of course you have to work in it. This year has been kinda dissapointing for cold weather. rtryb2200 01-16-2007, 10:43 PM We had 5.5 inches the other day, first snow since early Nov. now it is below zero...It is supposed to be 20s by the weekend though Manntis 01-16-2007, 10:53 PM Holy shit. I can't even imagine being that cold. Do you even go outside when it's like that??? Nope. There was a Province-wide advisory for people to stay indoors. Some soccermom's car broke down and she attempted to walk a km to a gas station for assistance, and froze to death. aznpoopy 01-16-2007, 11:06 PM Nope. There was a Province-wide advisory for people to stay indoors. Some soccermom's car broke down and she attempted to walk a km to a gas station for assistance, and froze to death. RIP... shit wotnartd 01-17-2007, 12:06 AM It gets cold, people get retarded. meddle 01-17-2007, 12:09 AM Me, but Im nowhere near being iced in since its like 65 degrees outside. I love georgia, free educations and warm winters. i'd rather have ice than a bunch of backwards bible thunping rednecks-don't forget the black problem. vrooom305 01-17-2007, 11:44 AM kinda funny http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/VideoPlayer/makeASX.php?title=www.king5.com/kiraw_011607portlandhomevid.wmv alex_the_hipple 01-17-2007, 01:33 PM I've been "snowed in" for the last two days. It's really ridiculous, no working, no money, no fun (well lots of fun in the Subaru, it's just that the lack of cash on it's way in means I'm not going to be having that much fun down the road) AND we don't even really have any fucking snow on the ground. I lived in Northern Japan for six years and there were days I couldn't open my door or see out of my first story windows because of how much snow was piled up against them, I still went to work and I still went to school. I don't really know where else to go with this other than to just say, I'm pissed. beefhole 01-17-2007, 08:13 PM I walk to the train station (5 minutes) and then always manage to get to work with no delays. Coming home is another story... Hades12 01-18-2007, 09:52 AM Iced her a little bit, Was hopping for a day off but no luck. MazdaTed 01-18-2007, 06:17 PM i'd rather have ice than a bunch of backwards bible thunping rednecks-don't forget the black problem. Haha, alot of georgia is like that, but not my immediate area. But Im with you I hate the white trash rednecks. They make me look bad just because Im from Georgia. I do owe them for taking from their own family to pay for my education (through the lottery). Alex-7 01-18-2007, 10:56 PM I moved my FB into the driveway a couple weeks ago to make room for some other shit. Now it's incased in two inches of ice. Good thing I only drive it once a year. The roads are clear here finally, but sidewalks and everything else is still covered. Walking the dog has turned into sliding that bitch behind me around the block. The colder it is, the earlier I hit the bottle though. :blah: |
