Who else is stuck at home in a "not prepared for real winter" city/state?

Normally we're right there with you on the warm winter part. But it sleeted all last night, and it's not supposed to get above freezing for the next two days, so the roads are crap.

It was 9 below this morning when I left for work. The roads are clear but still snow and ice in parking lots. We got only 3-4 inches over the weekend, so it's not that bad.

A 22 mile commute on a moped dodging 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickups the whole way doesn't sound like fun to me. :)

We haven't had any snow yet this winter, which is bizarre. The high tomorrow is supposed to be 18 though, so it's gonna get cold.

Yay! It's warming up from -50 here!

We've been hitting record highs everyday. It should be way below freezing now but it was in the 50s yesterday and we broke the record high of 72 last sunday. Global warming FTW!

Our normal high this time of year is in the low 40s. There's no equipment to deal with ice/snow whatsoever. That means every overpass (and there are tons of them) is completely covered with ~.25" layer of ice.

-50 isn't all that bad, unless of course you have to work in it. This year has been kinda dissapointing for cold weather.

I've been "snowed in" for the last two days. It's really ridiculous, no working, no money, no fun (well lots of fun in the Subaru, it's just that the lack of cash on it's way in means I'm not going to be having that much fun down the road) AND we don't even really have any fucking snow on the ground. I lived in Northern Japan for six years and there were days I couldn't open my door or see out of my first story windows because of how much snow was piled up against them, I still went to work and I still went to school.

I don't really know where else to go with this other than to just say, I'm pissed.

I walk to the train station (5 minutes) and then always manage to get to work with no delays. Coming home is another story...

Haha, alot of georgia is like that, but not my immediate area. But Im with you I hate the white trash rednecks. They make me look bad just because Im from Georgia. I do owe them for taking from their own family to pay for my education (through the lottery).

I moved my FB into the driveway a couple weeks ago to make room for some other shit. Now it's incased in two inches of ice. Good thing I only drive it once a year.

The roads are clear here finally, but sidewalks and everything else is still covered. Walking the dog has turned into sliding that bitch behind me around the block.

The colder it is, the earlier I hit the bottle though.
