I'm getting fat bc I like beer and work a lot so I'm going to go running. The health section was feeling neglected so I posted this :)

I tried running once.

My blown knee told me to die in a fire. But up to that I could feel the fat melting off like butter on a rotisserie chicken.

yeah, I need to get in shape some guy just called and said he was going to stab me until my kidneys bleed. I better start training so I can preemptively kick him in the face.

my opinion is, running beats up your joints and makes you look like crap

weight training is vastly superior, and, yes, you can get a cardio benefit out of it if you work out with intensity and keep supersets in your schedule

good luck

I tried to get into weight training a while back, my body is too torn up for it. I think if I had gotten into it while I was in Judo I wouldn't be as messed up as I am now.

I go walking all the time with my neighbour... go for about an hour, it's quite a workout but it sucks balls in the winter.

We went hiking last night in the rain to get to this waterfall I've been wanting to kayak. It was pretty damn intense. You could WATCH the water getting higher and the holes in the normally trickling creek were waste high. I was nervous to try to drive through it. The trail ended up getting swallowed by another river and we had to climb out of the river gorge. Definitely an intense midnight hike. Oh yeah, also we were throwing logs into the hydraulic at the bottom of the drop and they'd never resurface. Definitely not a drop you want to try to run.
