I’m very thankful to be alive and writing about this experience, and not letting folks read about it on the Monday local headlines…

Yesterday evening, about 6:30 p.m., my family and I were returning home from an Eagle Scout ceremony for one of my previous scouts.. I had the family in our 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee, quad-trac. We were traveling home along a windy, hilly backroad (a road I’ve traveled hundreds of times) and approached an uphill curve. The posted speed along this road is typically 30mph (40mph is about the max anyone could do at this little curve/hill).

As we approached the base of the rise, an 18-20 foot commercial moving van/truck crested the hill, fully traveling in the opposite lane. I would estimate his speed at 55-60mph.

I had approximately ½ second to react, gunned the Jeep and plowed off to the right into a soft shoulder ditch. The driver of the truck compensated as he passed me, rocking the truck back into his lane and continued at a high rate of speed down the road..

What’s absolutely amazing is that 75% of this road has NO shoulder at all. It’s either tree or fence lined damn near 18” from the road edge.. I happened to be at one of the few spots where a drainage ditch renders about 15 feet of shoulder.

After about 30 seconds of regaining my composure, I whipped the Jeep out of the ditch and turned around to chase that cock-sucker who almost killed me and my family. He was already waaay out of sight and when I came to a fork in the road- I chose one that headed back into town.

Not ¾ mile down the road, tree and branch pieces littered the road. I slowed down, crested a hill and about 15 people were already assembled on the road, motioning me to SLOW down. This numbskull had gone off the road to the right, headed for a front yard full of people having a BBQ, clipped a large locust tree, which thankfully made him over-compensate and careen back onto the road. He traveled across the opposing lane, busted through a cattle fence and plowed over 100ft of cedar trees and bushes until he smacked an oak tree. The eyewitnesses said he had the truck floored going up the road..

I parked the Jeep, got out and went over to the van. The fucker was sitting on the ground, swaying- obviously drunk/stoned or both. Little shit looked like a meth-head. I fucking went nuts, told the fucker to ‘STAND UP YOU PUSSY!! YOU ALMOST KILLED US YOU LITTLE FUCKER!! STAND UP YOU BITCH!!” God I was pissed. I was going to fucking pulverize the bastard. A bunch of guys grabbed me and pushed me back from this punk saying the cops were on the way. They said the fucker tried to run, but they had surrounded his stumbling ass and already called the cops..

Anyway- the cops got there pretty quick (one of them my neighbor) and they had to let the medics take him to the hospital as a standard procedure. They assured me he would have a blood test, as he was driving a commercial vehicle. The also called out drug dogs to search the van and woods, in case he had any shit with him. (Incidentally- my neighbor/cop said I should have beat his ass then left- cause no one would have said a word...)

I’m telling you- We would have been plowed over dead if that fucker smacked us head on..

I must admit that is one thing I do love about Southern law. Beating the living piss out of that guy would probably been ok in most places down here.

And I would call up the guy that owns the moving company and rip him a new asshole. Remeber the thread I posted about that little punk who came around the corner in the opposite lane and almost took me out when I was on my motorcycle? Shit like that inspires a fit of rage, which I think you fully understand. Ass beatings should be handed out left and right, alot of people need them.

Yup, I believe it. I think these people should be handed the 3 chance rule. If you get sent to rehab 3 times and still can't get your life together, then everyone who's live you've affected in some way gets to publicly stone you.
